Yes and no. There are some legitimate work from home "jobs" but they usually don't pay very well. The other option is a home-based "business" (hbb for short) Since, they are businesses they tend to have associated costs for either start-up, maintenance, or both.
Mary Kay, Arbonne, YTB, and Pre-Paid Legal are just a few of the legitimate home-based businesses out there. You can always check out an hbb at the DSA (Direct Sellers Association) website http://www.dsa.org. If it's a legit company it'll be listed there.
Some things to consider when starting a hbb are that just like owning a traditional business, you won't be receiving a salary. If you sell something, you'll get paid for it. Also just like a traditional business, they take drive and determination to be successful. No one is going to buy from you if they don't know that you have somthing to sell. Finally, be sure that the product and company is something that you can get excited about; because, if you're not excited about it, you won't excite anybody else and a bored prospect is someone elses closed sale.
My wife and I bought an hbb a few months ago and we love it and we're making some money. It's uncomplicated, there are no products taking up our storage space, and it's a part of the largest industry in the world. You are welcome to check out the presentations on our website http://www.flybymetravel.com. Just click on the pink buttons to the left.
Since you are concerned about legitimacy, here are some thrid party links about the business:

Remember, whatever you decide to do, make sure that you love it, because if you don't you probably won't stick with it and it'll end up being a waste of time and money. |

Yes, there are all of those things. But, you are smart to be wary. I've been earning online for just over 9 months and I am now a full time online earner. Be persistent and visit forums of work at home moms and find out what they do.
I love that I work from home and can choose my own hours and play with the kids when I want.
Also, look for proof of payment and a good mentor.
Good luck. |

The ones that aren't scams actually require work on your part - and if you're in need of money soon then you're likely to be sorely disappointed in any of those as well. Most of the legit opportunities out there take time to build - so if someone makes an outrageous claim of income it probably isn't true ( and those that are true sure didn't make that kind of money when they first began ).

Time & effort required - but do your own research on what is best for you, don't take the advice of myself and others as gospel from this type of forum.

I have other ideas that may help - one of them is an online opportunity but another is one that will require a little effort to market yourself - try some data entry for local businesses, many of them don't have the time to do it in-house and will gladly pay someone else to do it. Professionals are a good place to start, lawyers, doctors, chiropractors, etc - they need their "in-house" folks doing other things rather than busy work.

Hope it helps! |

Working from home can be great!
I have a small business helping people with health, and also to make extra income from home.
You do need to be careful - just make sure you fully investigate the company you look into joining. Make usre there is a money back guarantee and that the company is a large organisation with proof, such as being listed on the stock exchange or sposoring events, etc.
I would also speak with the person you communicte with either in person or over the phone, before committing to anything.
I love working from home and can help you with tips for getting started. :)

There are so many online scams are existing in the internet. Even search queries in popular search engines were displaying too many scam sites as top search results. After long time searching for work from home sites, finally I have found a website which helps to make money online for free :

Home base business takes a lot of time to start off. Just like any other business. You have to invest hard work to get the rewards in the end. I have started in the technology industry in telecommunications. You help people save money on the everyday needs like home phone services, cell phones, internet and so on. While helping people save money, you make money. Please check out this website.

I really think the best job to start out working at home would be virtual call center agent. There are several companies out there that you can apply with to increase your chances of getting hired. I worked for West at Home for about a year part time and made $200-$400 every two weeks. Working it full time you should be able to make the income you need. It's easy work where you take inbound calls from people ordering products. You schedule your own schedule from the shifts they provide which is nice. You can find the link to them and other legitimate virtual call center companies at http://www.workathomedesk.com and if you look around the directory a bit you might also find some other companies to apply with. Make sure to check out the current job leads as there have been good ones there lately. Hope this helps! |

There is a Home Based Career Center on the website below. Real jobs that you apply for online.
Medical Transcription is of course included – there is an online guide to becoming a transcriptionist -- but there are other non-health related fields as well.

No, there really isn't anything that is real.
There are a few Transcribing jobs that pay well, but you really need to be a fast typer and have a lot of time free.
My wife was house bound for about 6 months, so we looked into this stuff. Found nothing worth the time. |
