Are there any REAL work at home opportunities for mothers?

I'm looking for some REAL opportunity to work at home. Are there any? I was thinking of joining AmeriPlan, but I'm not sure how legit they are... I'm hearing mixed reviews. I'm also thinking of starting an eBay business selling baby clothing and equipment... but theres too much competition and too much stuff on there that doesn't sell for that much.
Any other mothers out there have any ideas? Or businesses that you work for and make a few bucks(i'm not looking for a get rich quick, b/c i know there are none out there). Even if its just $100 or so a week... or WHATEVER I can get.

glitter~ i'm into photography, but mainly landscape. i'm only 21, so i haven't had too much experience. I've worked as a waitress most of my life(since I was 15, almost 16). Then I modeled, but got out of it once I had my son. I'll be getting back into it, but I want to make sure I'm in good shape again before I even attempt.

You're talking about having your own business, so what about MaryKay cosmetics, Avon products, or Discovery Toys?

Beyond the world of catalog selling, think about what your own unique talents are and ways you could generate income from them. If you have musical talent, you could teach lessons. If you have a knack for photography or painting, you could sell your own drawings, photos, and creations. Handcrafted items such as pottery, knitted scarves, and more could sell well at a weekend flea market booth.

Also consider how technology has progressed. I work from a traditional office, yet we have employees who work out of their homes - the company has installed equipment to make that possible, and our clients can't even tell who works at home and who doesn't! You could apply for positions in whatever field you worked in before, and see if there is a way to work from home.

Yeah, baking home made breads is always wonderful. I always enjoy my mother's cooking. You can sell your products at the local market too!

I've read all the suggestions posted and truly recommend you stay away from Surveys. Been there, done that. Always do some research before you join something.

As far as Ameriplan goes it is legit and a very good way to make a living. You won't get rich overnight but if you are patient and persistent you will succeed. I have been working Ameriplan and ProcardInternational and I have been enjoying the benefits of both. I have some bad months when the income was lower than usual or expected but hard work, dedication, and commitment goes along way with both of these companies.

As far as work at home opportunites-I'm not a mom but I do need money to tide me over when I am waiting for paychecks from Ameriplan and procard so I work West.com and Liveops.com as my backup. At west I am an employee but there are no benefits but great pay. With Liveops I am an independent contractor and I have to pay my own taxes but the pay is still great and reliable. Check these out and you will not be disappointed. I receive a paycheck every other week thru direct deposit and I am able to pay bills and stay at home and have time for the good things in life. Whatever you do, make sure to do some research before you sign up for anything, and go with what feels right to you. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

There aren't a lot of REAL home opportunities that are going to pay you to stay home especially considering investments.

Depending on how much you want to make and how long you are willing to sit at the computer, there is paid online surveys. I did the homework and found where to go. Email me if you are interested. But, it too, is like finding a needle in a haystack and as soon as I filled out one survey which took forever it loaded my email box with 100's of junk mail. If you have tons of time to sort through all that, I'll send you that link. Email me. I have no clue if there is any affiliate benefits for me. I haven't gotten that far. I am actually trying to help someone else looking for what you are. My experience so far is coming up empty.

As far as a home based business, I am a mother and grandmother and 46 years old. I have learned that in orer to make money you have to work. I am a nurse and I have decided to start researching home-based businesses. Along with my research I decided to join one so far because it gives me the sense of having the opportunity to get in at the top just as if you would have been able to do so with the right timing in Herbalife and some of the other successful ones. Yes, there are a lot of scams. When you look into getting into mlm's (multi-level marketing) there are things you look for. One...health, nutrition and weight loss are most recommended (as far as I have learned). Makes sense to me...weightloss is a 100 billion dollar market and health...well...big market too.
Two...avoid "investment fees" and "start up fees." That doesn't mean you avoid anything that costs to get in because not everyone is giving things away for free and there has to be a committment.

There are other things, I'm not going to spell out all that I have learned here.

Do you have to work? YEP. Can you use the internet? Yep. But, you have to work. Can you do it on a budget? Yep. But, you have to discipline yourself.

If you get into a business with a product worth dealing with and an easy comp plan and the right timing and you are willing to work it like a business you can build yourself a business. This one was impressive because commissions were generating for me before I could build my downline. It's the way the comp plan is set up. It rolls over week to week until you can collect on it. Your TOP level is technically 12 people enrolled. If you look around, you have to have hundreds and thousands of people to make money on most of them.

I did see some home jobs that involved telephone customer service but they aren't that easy to get. I can dig up those web sites if you are interested. I can't remember if you have to pay.

I put myself through college and paid for more training to make good money. Unfortunately, there are things you have to do to earn. Babysitting pays well but may not make you happy.

Yes, you are right about competition on Ebay and it has gottten to the point where you can't get the deals you used to be able to because the fees jack up the price of items. You have to have things that people want. Levi's, for example. How many people do you know that have old Levi's around? They sell. That's just one idea but not necessarily a quick answer for you.

I use to do telephone at work from home. You can go to Alpine access or Westat. (Just do a web search on them to get their websites) These are ligitimate JOBS! Don't do Ameriplan...I looked at it and I think it's a scam! The bad things about these businesses is you need a quite environment, no screaming kids or barking dogs! I don't know about you...but that didn't work out too well for me all the time!
