Are there any "legitimate" work at home jobs online?

howt... is right - this is a very popular question ....however, I have been a virtual rep and know there are legit companies out there... if you live in the US and are looking for a JOB as a virtual rep or something of that nature, send me an email through my profile and I will forward links to two sites that list companies who HIRE 'virtual reps'.

You can try freelance writing, bookkeeping, software, transcription or customer service work at home jobs. These companies do not require any fee and pay well . There are some out there, but don't be fooled by the idea that you will make a lot of money. I don't know any specifically, but there are a few out there. Unless it is your own business that you are going to work at home for, I'm not sure if work at home jobs posted online are such a great idea.

Medical transcriptionists work at home and it's a legitimate career. You do need quality training though to get started. Best wishes to you.

If you posess skills then I can say you to look at projects outsourced on freelance sites. Projects on web research, article writing, data entry, web designing are few areas where you can look in.

Type your question into the Yahoo Answers search bar. You'll get about a million replies to that same question. It will take you many months just to read all the answers to that question. There's probably been 50 people already ask that same question just today.

The bottom line answer is NO, NO, NO, NO! Never pay somebody to get you work. And if the websites don't list a phone number and a real physical address (not a PO Box) you better run before throwing your money away.

There are real jobs out there, you just got to know where to look. Go to http://www.workathomedesk.com which is a free site that has a directory of legitimate companies that hire home workers. Depending on your skills and experience, you should find some good leads there.

You are probably receiving a lot of information about possible work from home jobs. I have been in your shoes and have spent many hours online researching and trying to find the right one. The one thing that I ended up figuring out is that there are no true work from home "jobs." In a work from home job you usually start out working for a company and then for whatever reason, sometimes, the company will let you take your job home; thus work from home job. I would never pay a company to work from home.

However, there are many work from home â€œopportunities.â€ These opportunities provide you with the vehicle to work from home and build your own business. The difficult or frustrating part about finding the right opportunity is that there are many offers that are not legitimate, but scams. Theses scams make it difficult for the companies that truly offer a legitimate opportunity to work from home. Usually, work from home opportunities have a small investment to start your own business. These are okay as long as they are around $100, anything much more than that and I would stay away. Also if they require a monthly overhead to run the business it should include things like your websites, training, back office system, and support. Remember any business that you start and want to continue will always have start up costs and monthly expenses, if it doesn't then it is probably not a legit business.

You could setup a blog or website, this is completely free. Once you have added some good content, you can start to earn money from advertising. I know you wont make a huge income from this, but it would get you started. Pick a topic which you are very interested in, and write a piece on that everyday.

I've given step by step instructions on how to create a website for free, and then add adverts to it so you can start generating income.
