You could try doing online surveys like I do at this site. The online survey site I am a part of does not have any fees and registration is fee.
It in fact does really pay as other users have proven so.I have already made $20 and I just started two days ago. Payment is a check that comes to you in the mail. :)

I have tried many “work from home” systems and all have failed! However I just got in to a system a few months back and it is the best thing ever!! I work just a few hours a day and I bring in LOADS of cash. It’s not that hard do but with anything the more time you put into it the more you will get out. The ones that aren't scams actually require work on your part - and if you're in need of money soon then you're likely to be sorely disappointed in any of those as well. Most of the legit opportunities out there take time to build - so if someone makes an outrageous claim of income it probably isn't true ( and those that are true sure didn't make that kind of money when they first began ).

I have other ideas that may help - one of them is an online opportunity but another is one that will require a little effort to market yourself - try some data entry for local businesses, many of them don't have the time to do it in-house and will gladly pay someone else to do it. Professionals are a good place to start, lawyers, doctors, chiropractors, etc - they need their "in-house" folks doing other things rather than busy work.

There are a few legitimate data entry companies but are not hiring and have large waiting lists (1-2yrs). The majority of data entry jobs you seen online are scams. A real company will want you to have skills (fast typing, 10 key), may want you to know excel, and will usually ask that you have high speed internet. Once in a long while you may found one online on a job website but it is rare.

One option is to freelance and bid for data entry jobs. However, you are bidding along with many people and often other countries-so you may have to bid really low just to get a job and/or project.
Another option is to offer data entry services to businesses in your area. It can be done, I know people who have done this but it is not easy to do.

Well I can tell you where you can find a large listing of legit companies in various work fields that hire people who wnat to work from home and what are the various ways by which you can work at home and make money from home. I have found that Work At Home Desk is one of the better free sites out there and I visit it frequently for updated job postings. Saves me time researching the web myself. Good luck!
