Hi. I used to work for a company called NEW. They are the ones who offer extended service plans for electronics you buy at places like WalMart and Circuit City. It is a legit company. They have actual call centers, but after they tested a trial with their employees working at home, they found it was much more profitable for the company and their employees were happier. Their headquarters is in Virgina - don't remember the city, though. You set your own hours and you can choose whether you work 2 hours a day or 8 (they are open 24/7). The only thing is you have to attend PAID training in your area for 5 weeks - it may be different now. I'm also sure it depends on which program you are working on. After the first 3 or 4 weeks, you will take calls at home. I used to troubleshoot for Directv. They have other programs as well. Once a week, you will chat with your supervisor using some computer program where you can see your supervisor's computer screen and talk to them using your telephone. It really helped me when I needed to stay at home!! You do need to have a computer and purchase a headset, and you need to have DSL I believe. Their pay starts at like $9 or more per hour, depending where you live, and they direct deposit your check to your bank account every 2 weeks. You will have to contact them on their specific requirements. Good Luck!!

There are plenty of great sites to go to for this information, but before I'd suggest one company over another let me suggest this: There is a great grooup of girls who are part of the mompack group (see www.mompacks.com for info) who know most of these companies inside and out and can tell you first hand which companies are good and which to stay away from. We are all Work at home mom's and were in the same boat as you. You can share your interests and they can help you match it with a company! Some tips on work at home jobs:
1. Never ever ever pay money for an opportunity to begin with (secret shopping, etc.). Alot of companies like avon and mary kay have you buy starter kits, its ok as long as the company is reputable and you are comfortable dishing out the cash. Check the Better business bureau in ALL states including their corporate head quarters for info.
2. DO NOT FALL for anyone asking you to be a "financial officer" or some other bull. If they have you "processing checks" through your checking account, you're going to get into alot of financial trouble. The checks are fake, you're committing fraud. Just say no.
3. Check with your local area too. Alot of people may need virtual assistants. Try Craigslist.com for listings.
