I charge about 5 bucks per hour, but it also depends how many kids and if it's at night or seomthing. But 5.00 is usually a good starting amount. (Unless you've babysat alot before) |

Go with the what the min. hourly wage is for your area!!!
Add .50 Cents A hour per child. exampel 1 child is at $ 5.00
A hour add the 2 nd at + .50 cents per hour or 5.50 A HOUR
for 2 and go with that!!!!!!!!!
That is how I did it and that was 30 years ago...
$2.00 a hour and i added .50 cents per kid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I can not see why this would not apply still......... |

If you are a young beginner I would charge 7 an hour but if you are someone with a lot of experience I would charge 10 an hour. |

6 dollars per hour, depends on how old they are.
If they're trouble makers, the parents will naturally pay more ;) |

It depends on how many kids there are, if you've taken the Red Cross CPR Training Course, and how much the parents make. |

I would say that the average amount people charge for baby-sitting is about $5 an hour.
But it also depends on your age and your experience. |

Well, the minimum wage in Pennsylvania is $7.15/hr, so anywhere near that is a pretty safe bet. |

You should find out how much the day care center in your area are charging and what other sitters in the area are charging. (This should include the cost for meals, diapers, etc.) Know your competition!
Once you have determined those prices, try to make your prices competitive so that people will come to you.
If the babysitter down the street charges $100. a week and doesn't provide meals, than you do the opposite. Include meals or lower your weekly price by 1/4 or both.
Also, know your customers. What can they afford to pay? If you charge too much, they will struggle to pay you and you will find yourself having to hunt them down for your money.
So it's also important to know your clients and what the average income is for your area, because this too plays a part in your fee.
If the client makes $10. per hour, she certainly cannot afford to pay you $10. per hour. Understand?
Good luck to you! |
