So, as requested, some more details... =D
- The site will be a blog, but also an online portfolio. I MAY decide to have exclusive tutorials on graphic making for subscribed members, but that's only a maybe.
- The site will be using flash, so I might need lots of space since flash might take up some.
- I'm not going to be paying anything more that 15$ per month, no exceptions.
- What I mean by reliable, is that the site must have many people who use it, NO ADS, and has a clean and sleek web layout.
- Hosting must be ad free.

The best thing that I can offer is advice.
I personally would not use a flash site. They look great. However, basic html sites still top the rankings in any search engine and the drive the most targeted traffic coupled with valuable content provided by you. Why? Still about 80% of people are using analog connection to the net. (dial up) Using a flashed based website will cut out many of the people in this category.
Besides that opinion. Whether you choose flash or not. I would suggest that you take a look at several hosting options.
Getting the proper match for your needs is like getting the right clothing outfit. You have to shop around to get the best fit. I would also suggest that you jot down your expectations. As you search you will add to the list. i.e. What appearance do you expect to have? What type of features do you want to incorporate into your site? How will you drive targeted traffic to your site? And so on....
As you begin comparing hosting options, first compare feature-by-feature then dollar-for-dollar. This process will ensure the best fit and the most value for your money.

Hey, I prefer Vanhost, (www.vanhost.ca) since there a small company who go out of there way for customer support. Once you've purchased account they have a Cpanel back-end and fantastico which means setting up your blog would take around 5 minutes. If you are to confused they will even setup the blog for you so all you have to do is start typing in your entries. They will purchase the domain and setup all the hosting so all you have to do is login and start on your site. |
