Sounds dishonest to me.
You could try, but each hard drive has a serial number which is stored on the larger companies database. |

no you need proof of purchase for a refund but sometimes if you kick up a big stink they'll give you store credit

You bought a hard drive on eBay from someone, and now you want to return it to Best Buy because they carry that same brand? Sounds a bit dishonest to me. Best Buy can usually look up what you've bought in the past, so it might not work out for you. |

I think what hes saying is that he bought a HDD from Ebay, but wants to take it in for a refund from a store. (that he didn't buy it from)
Well, here in the UK, you're not eligible for a refund, since you dont have proof of purchase. I'm not sure if asking for a refund would constitute fraud though.
Most shops that I know of will offer you a credit note to the value of the HDD. |
