call the labor dept. and the better business beareau right away, he can absolutely not do that, and also do not accept any money from him/her that is less than the full amount that is owed to you, he can then say he paid you in full, i hate to tell you this but there is a good chance you may not see your money |

according to labor laws a employer must pay off all debts owed to you on your final day. If they are not payed then they will accumilate more until they are paid, check with your labor board and dont take no for a awnser. |

Absolutely not,,, whatever state you are in call the labor board.. If there is no employee handbook in place,, he will probably get by without having to pay you the $$ though... And it sounds like he is just a small time operation.. not a major corporation.. So more than likely you will not see any vacation pay... |

If you get laid off and have accrued vacation time, the company must pay you the full amount of that time. No IOUs, unless you agree to it (which you shouldn't). You're still laid off, but you get 15 days of pay. Note that you don't get the 15 days of benefits (unless you pay for them), but they must give you the 15 days of salary.
Threaten to call the State Labor Department. Then follow through if they don't pay you for your time. |
