Spreadshirt is a great place to sell clothing online if youre looking to go in that direction. You can upload your own designs or choose one of their own and put it on their things. If you choose to sell from the site you can markup items to make a profit or order the things you customize and sell them yourself. Ive made quite a bit from my shop

Hi there,
Its a very tough market but its acheivable in business. You need some good suppliers. For your industry there is an excellent exhibition show called Premier Kids and it is in Birmingham NEC twice a year, it is full of suppliers of baby childrenswear alot of new internet new business starters go there to get a feel of Uk suppliers because its easier to buy and minimum quantities are usually low to get you started.

Hi there and well done for making the decision to be a SAHM!
Have you considered eBay? I've been selling on eBay for 5 years now, have since developed our online website as well, and today moved into our new warehouse/office (a huge shed on our property) ... All this from meagher beginnings (a $50 start!).
I do believe you'd do well in that area on eBay (no I'm not paid by eBay to say that, lol, I'm just a committed PowerSeller).
To find warehouses and wholesalers for you, you could consider buying from Opportunity Shops etc. at the beginning which will require less outlay ($$). Usually maternity clothing (second hand) is in good condition so you shouldn't have much trouble selling it ... its also a way for you to test the market without spending too much money.
Once you've decided to continue and venture into new clothing, you should find your capital city telephone directories would be a good place to start searching.

Checkout your favourite high street baby stores, identify their best selling lines, read new parenting magazines for ideas and go to annual Baby/Maternity Trade Fairs for suppliers. Ask Birmingham NEC exhibition centre for a trade fair timetable. Check the Kompass Trade Directory for suppliers in your area.
Ask your bank for free business planning software, set a budget and a clear date to get started.
Consider delivery options, invent offers exclusive to you and make sure customer service is your top priority ! |
