Work at home "opportunities" aren't made available to us, we make them ourselves.
I look around craigslist for people selling collections of things that I break down and sell for more on online auctions
Y'just gotta work with what you know and be willing to haggle, and also walk away if someone won't accept your offer.
I do video games.
Be careful - if you're not VERY astute about what you can get for things, you can end up biting off more than you can chew. |

I make the difference between "Work FROM Home" and "Work AT Home". I have been earning money performing mystery shopping, audits, and inspections away from home and then inputting the reports at home for several years.
Occasionally, some of this type of work can be done at home, such as phone and web audits but you will likely have to have done some of the out of home work before being offered it.

depending on your definition of a "scam" I may have an opportunity for you to consider
This is a legitimate home based business but it is up to you to make it work. You dont need the internet (it is just one of many tools you can use) to market a business. Flyers radio ads newspaper ads etc are all great also.
There is absolutly no GUARANTEE you will make cent with this business but let me tell you anyone who guarantees you will make Xdollars is almost certainly running a less than honest operation

1. WelI I actually take surveys for cash. And yes they do pay as long as you know the good ones. I have some free survey sites that are very reliable just check out my profile by clicking my name or email me at annesurveys@hotmail.com for them. I only give sites that I've been paid by so you won't get scammed. They're all reliable and I've never had a problem with them. (I've been doing them for a year now) The best part is that anyone can do them and they're easy. You won't get rich but they definitely help with bills :)

i work at home but it is through a company in melbourne, FL and i dont know where you are located.
I also know that google also offers work at home opportunities, but because working at home is so nice, jsut like my job, opportunites are rare because there is not a lot of turn over. |

There definitely are a lot of scams out there, so it's good to be cautious. I've always been in love with business, and wanted to have my own business. I saw so many of those "get rich quick" infomercials and "earn money at home" advertisements, but I was quite skeptical. A friend of mine who owns a jewelry business online told me about WebStore by Amazon at http://webstore.amazon.com. It's about $60/month, and they give you a bunch of templates to choose from that you can customize, and marketing tools and product management features. But, here's the best part: you pick a category of products you'd like to sell, and you just re-sell other's products on your site, and you earn a commission on what you sell. Everything about the site will be branded how you want it, but it goes through Amazon's checkout, which is only a good thing because people trust Amazon, and they'll in turn trust your store.
It's pretty cool, check it out, and keep that entrepreneurial spirit up! |

You're right, there are a lot of scams out there but lets start with some basic inquiries here so that you can start looking at something that is actually catered to you.
What do you like doing? Is there something that you have knowledge or a desire to do? What's important to you in choosing a home based business?
For me, I had to ask myself a lot of questions.....I had a criterai built as to what would be acceptable to me and what wouldn't and you will want to do that for yourself as well. For example:
- Do you want everything to operate from home?
- Do you want the freedom of choosing your own hours?
- Do you want to do direct sales or not?
- Do you enjoy doing home demo parties or would you rather that never happen?
- What kind of start up costs are you comfortable with?
- Is a residual income important to you or are you happy with a trading time for money situation like a typical job?
I could keep going here but I think you get my drift? From here you should be able to look at all sorts of opportunities and narrow it down to one that you feel really good about!
I also suggest that when you explore the opportunities that look exciting to you that you really take your time.....look at them inside and out and if everything is above board and honest and you really love the journey that you're about to embark on....go for it and have a great time with your new love!
