Can people really make a living off of ebay?
Does it really work that some peoples can make a living off ebay//

Darth Vader
The founder of eBay does.

yeahh, some buisnesses make a profit off of taking peoples junk and selling them on ebay. Also, some people create stores on ebay, and choose to sell multiple things that they can order, yet hike the price a bit to get a bigger profit. Ebay also did some sort of promotion awhile ago to get people to work for them online....

My neighbor does pretty well by going to pawnshops and garage sales and selling them on ebay. He has the freedom of being self employed, and he takes his laptop with his sprint wireless card when he goes on vacation so he can still answer emails from the beach

Yes, but it is not as easy as it used to be because ebay has become very competitive. I think it is best to use ebay as a second or third stream of income rather than a primary bread winner.

In order to be successful you either need easy access to desireable merchandise at low prices, or you need a lot of capital to invest in your own stock.

Drop-shipping is largely a scam. Stay away from any website promising easy answers to making a living off of ebay. There is nothing easy about being an ebay seller.

I think the most important thing to remember is to find out where the money is and throw yourself in front of it. Remember that you can not create demand for a product.

You can find inexpensive lots of merchandise on sites like alibaba.com

I tried to buy popular Christmas toys in 2005 very early in the season and unload them on ebay at a slight mark-up (it didn't work, as there were no popular toys that year other than video game consoles). I also tried to buy designer merchandise on sale at places like TJ Maxx and Marshalls but that was also a disaster. These stores really know how to prices items. I hope that you do better than I did!

yes, people run businesses and sell their products purely via ebay

sammy
yes and no. well it really depends what they have to sell i think if i were the age to start making a living that would be the way to go it sounds easy and fun! but if u have nothing good to sell then ebay wont really help!

a k
NO ..if you have collectable items then you can make some money but if you have to relist items you can actually be out of pocket. .. beware !!

It's really hard to make a living on ebay. It could be your second or third income which is what I do. I buy items locally & mark them up anywhere from 50 to 100% so I can make a little bit after fees but not much! Garage sales, thrift stores, & discount stores are all places you can get items to sell.
