You can get one easy for $2 a month with http://kall8.tollfree2.com and it comes with its own voice mail. You can customize it to forward calls to your home phone by time, day, certain numbers, etc. You can also set it up to show the caller's phone number on caller id or your 800 number on caller id if you want to know its an 800 number call. It will record your caller history to look up online and send you your messages and faxes to your email when you receive them. There are more features too but those are the basic ones and they are all free.

You can, but what it means is you are basically paying the long distance charges of the caller. A little bit less, but that is the concept.
If you get a VOIP phone you can get some exchanges in areas that will be toll free for the caller.
So, it really depends what purpose you're trying to serve.

It probably depends on your area ... but in my area it is allowed.
It's good if you have family/friends that live far away and may not be able to afford to call long distance as often as you like to hear from them.

No that is only for a business and if you did that would be dorkie!
