Best way is to get out the yellow pages and call businesses in your field and ask if you can fax over your resume and to who's attention. Make sure the resume is for a specific job and not one of those generalized things that make employers think you have no idea what you want to do. They throw those away. Follow up in a week with the person who you faxed it to. |

Buy a paper.
Check Internet sites.
Visit your local employment office.
Send your CV to companies you like the sound of or fancy working for.
Ask friends to recommend you at their workplaces.
Go to college & retrain for something new.
Get off your butt, stop answering/asking questions on this site & stop expecting everybody else to think for you. |

There are lots of places to locate a job on the internet. Each state has its own unemployment office that will help you find a job. For example, in texas the office is called workintexas.com. You go there and can job search from the comfort of your own home. i have found it to be helpful to go to google or yahoo and type in the name of the job or position you want and you can find a job that way. another way is to type in the name of the city or county and go to the city or county's website to find a job. You can apply on these websites for the jobs. You could use monster.com, and also enlist the help of friends and family. Just by knowing people can help you get a job. Best of luck. |

Put together a good resume. There are many software programs that walk you through the process. You can also use the template that came with Word. Post you resume on places like Monster.com. Don't expect employers to come beating to your door. Network like crazy - the best way to get hired is by referral. Check all the local papers (use the library - much cheaper). Some places do limited advertising. Do not get discouraged, it can take from 6 to 9 months to find a good position. If you only want or need a job for immediate income - look for help wanted sings in windows.
When you go for an interview do NOT wear jeans. At a minimum wear business casual, much better to be dressier than that. Be well-groomed. Be polite. First impressions are very difficult to overcome.
You may be the best possible candidate but if you are dressed like a slob, need a haircut or haven't bathed in a few days it is highly doubtful you will get a second chance. |

You should try monster.com. If you know the specific company you want to work for, then go to that company's website and click on careers. See what they have available. |
