If you checked prices then you should know! What you need to watch out for on eBay is way over priced shipping and handling fees and extended shipping time particularly if they use media mail. All of them should post their S&H prices so do the math and you'll know who has the cheapest price for the book in the best condition. ALso look out for less than stellar seller ratings on both Amazon and eBay. An easy thing to check before buying.

on ebay, people can set the minimum bid for whatever they want - doesn't mean anyone will buy . is it a college textbook? those are expensive anywhere even used - 16 pounds sounds cheap if it's a textbook |

I'm kind of confused by your question, but make sure you have the right edition of the book and everything. The book may be in paperback (cheaper) or hardcover (more expensive). And there are a thousand things that are on ebay that are more expensive than if you did a quick search on froogle, so don't just assume that ebay has the cheapest thing. Also, you might want to check half.com (owned by ebay but for books). |

it depends on where you are buying from because the shipping costs can often be more then the product its self! also if the product is popular there will be alot of price competition and the price could sell for more then its worth. |

Things you have to consider when buying stuff on ebay is 1. What it would cost you to buy the item. Is it an auction? Or a buy it now listing? and 2. What the shipping is. Always consider the shipping price when using ebay. The seller should have it listed on the item page. But be careful because sometimes sellers will say oh there is also a handling fee of ___. But it will state that in the listing if there is one. And it may cost you an pound or two is you want insurance and tracking on the package.
Anytime I've bought something from amazon.com I've bought it directly from Amazon. Not the sellers. And I've never had a problem. You have to consider with ebay you don't know this person so sometimes the item may not get to you. I've had this happen with DVD's. I was just lucky I payed with Paypal so I got my money back. That is my biggest tip for buying from people you don't know, pay with paypal!! That way you're covered.

Save yourself headaches and scams and attitudes and no customer service by buying your book at a credible, viable, trusted store, Amazon. Been buying from them since 1999 and not one complaint; I stopped using eBay altogether because they are such jerks and there are so many frauds on there and sometimes you pay and never receive your stuff and eBay does nothing about it. Been there done that. |

you should defintely go to ebay, but make sure that you search all of the possible books. Diffrent people have differnet prices. |

You can save money if you were to bid on a book in an auction style listing where you will have a chance at winning it at a much lower price. Also try half.com where you could get books at much lower prices. |
