Do i have to have PayPal to sell on Ebay?

Most people will only use PayPal. Nobody want to give out their credit card information to a complete stranger.

no, but if you dont alot of people wont sell you items, and alot of people wont buy what your selling, plus having paypal is safer than accepting checks.

no just follow instructions on the payment details. but paypal is good because it protects you from...

PayPal is not necessary but certainly helpful for making clean transactions. I would suggest it, but if you'd rather not use PayPal there are other ways of selling.

if you want to be a successful seller yes, most buyers prefer paypal

No, you could take checks or money orders, but the checks could bounce and the money orders could be fake. Paypal offers buyers and sellers some protection... I took a check once from someone and they wrote a check for too much (supposedly for the wrong item), so I cashed it and sent them a check for the difference (after 10 days and the check had gone through) and mailed the item. After 21 days the check bounced and then I faced check bouncing fees from my bank and had to raise a lot of h*** with the person through ebay and square trade before I got my money back.

No, you could set up a bank account for ppl to pay into - but this could slow things up as you would need to wait a day or 2 for the payment to be confirmed.

No, but I prefer to buy through PayPal.

no but it makes your life WAY easier.

1. over 70% of sellers prefer PayPal, if you buy something, which is a good thing to do if you're just starting on Ebay, you gotta establish yourself as a seller.

2. PayPal is safer than a check/money order. you either have $ in the acct or you dont.

3. if someone tries to cheat you, like buy, pay and then pull the money back out of their acct, PayPal can protect you as a seller.

4. PayPal is also a safe and secure way to pay for goods online with other merchants. Amazon, Borders, etc.

it takes a bit to set up, however i just makes business sense to do it. too many advantages to list all.

YES! It is difficult to sell without paypal though it is not a requirement except for listing few categories. Buyers look for protection of their money and paypal provides this, as Ebay is a place with loads of scammers around always. Paypal is free to register, but you pay a certain percentage for all transactions!!!
