I would check it out, but if your having young children at your home, you might need to get health and safety checks done, I know to be a child minder you need certain checks, ie police check, home checked out for safety things, like stair gates, safety plugs. insurance incase anyone has an accident? hope this helps hun |

Check with your local city hall (they usually have a web page with that type of info and contact information). Depending on the type of business, you may or may not need a city license to operate out of your home.
You will also need to check with your state as well.
Go to local Barnes and Noble (or library) and there are some good basic books covering this type of info, NOLO have great books.
If you are a sole-propietorship, it is much easier, all the money you make is lumped together as personal income and it is the most simplest way. You can still operate the business in this simple model, even if you want to use a name for your company. You will need to check with the county to apply for Fictitious Business Name (it costs under 100 bucks and last ten years, generally speaking). |
