Not everyone no, but I'm sure you aren't alone.
Ask you manager for a review. You are getting unofficial feedback from people and it's time that you got some official feedback from your manager. Tell them that you need to know:
Whether you are doing a good job and if so what they particularly think is strong about you and your work and if not then what you need to do to get better.
Talk to them about the sniping. It is possible that it is affectionate banter that you are taking the wrong way but no-one has noticed. Equally you may be a noisy, irresponsible twerp who needs the wake up call to come from someone in authority. Time will tell but remember that if you use it properly then all feedback is good feedback even if it hurts at the time. |

Common, office workers feel like you have to pay your dues, and they are jealous because they were working fast food when they were your age. Maybe they feel like you didn't deserve your job. One thing I can say is, we hired a young girl and she thought she was so smart because she had the job, she thought she knew everything. It offended me because I didn't want her to get involved with important projects because she wasn't there to learn, she just wanted to be treated as an equal right out of the gate, even though I graduated college, I've closed several million dollar deals, led projects to success, but I've also failed a few times, and learned from every one. She will argue with points her elders are making, when she was a n00b. Maybe you are acting like this as well? |

Unfortantely people do get used to things in their office. If you're new, you'll feel like everything bothers everyone else. Why not see if they have weekly or monthly planning meetings in your office.
Bring this issue up. Let them know that you're attempting to be a good employee, but feel that others are discriminating against you due to your age. |

In some places it will, in others it won't. Just persevere, show enthusiasm and don't be brow beaten. If you like your work you are on to a winner ,.Sucess wil l follow :) |

all good answer from the young ones now how about the old peoples turn, 20 somethings today Have almost no work ethic, think they should start at the top, take off when they want and come in when they please, I believe that pretty much sums it up |

it does sound unfair
just do your job to the best of your ability, don't be afraid to give 110% or to volunteer to help someone else if you're done with your work, and most importantly, don't let it bug you
they're jealous or envious -- i'm not 'OLD' but i'm old enough to wish i were much younger! |

As long as you do your job to the best of your abilities that is all that really matters. Respect comes slowly but don't egg them on or try to rush to defend yourself. Let time and your work do the talking |

That tends to happen to younger people, esp in the work field. Older people don't always look at you as an equal because they think you're immature because you're younger than them. I'm 23 and I go through it all of the time. |

I know what you mean...I used to work in an office and was one of the youngest employees there. I got sick and tired just because of my age they treated and talked to me like a child. Remember age is only a number...it got better cause I proved myself to be a good employee and eventually got treated as an equal. |

That's old people for ya, never ready for some young blood to come to boost the dept. Their just stuck in their ways because they've been there so long. |

Some older people can't help but be bothered by it. The fact that you are young(able to work more years) opposed to them is seen as a threat to there job. Just don't take it personal |

Yes I see a lot of that also. I think they might feel threatened by younger people coming in and taking their jobs. Hold your head high and carry yourself with confidence. Just remember you don't have to be abused by anyone at your job, so let them know you don't appreciate their attitudes and your supervisors will be informed of the problem. Most bullies will stop as soon as you stand up to them. |
