I've worked from home for the past year, and in that time I've learned quite a few things about working from home.
1)NEVER pay for anything up front. Any company that requires you to buy a "start up kit" or pay for anything is most likely not something you should get into. Having said that, there are a few legit companies that do charge for a standard background check (LiveOps is one of them), but never pay for information, etc.
2)Keep realistic expectations if you want to work from home. Know that you're not going to earn a 6-figure income working from home. You can make a decent living, but many of the people that I know that work from home maintain at least two jobs to keep a decent income
3)Do your homework. Always check out a work-at-home job using any resources possible. The Better Business Bureau and the FTC websites have a database of companies. Also, check out workplacelikehome.com, an online message board. The people there are awesome and there is a great deal of information about work at home job listings.
Also, check out wahm.com. They have a regularly-updated list of work at home jobs listings.
Having said that, here is a brief list of companies that are legit and hire from home. Keep in mind that these jobs are not for everyone, so check them out before you decide to invest your time and resources in them. Most of them require, at the least, a high-speed internet connection and landline home phone line.
West At Home Agent: http://www.workathomeagent.com
Process inbound sales and customer service calls for a variety of clients
LiveOps: http://www.liveops.com
Similar to West At Home. Requires $30 for a background check.
Alpine Access: http://www.alpineaccess.com
Good luck!! |

Love to have a work from home job but like you, I have researched the net and all have come with start up fees, including surveys. Good luck and hope you find one. |

You NEVER want to pay upfront.
The best I have found is a resale buisness on ebay.
Yard sale by weekend, sale by the weekday..its something that is super easy and something you can take your kids along with too. |

Yes, I have one trying now, called Agloco. Agloco is a global economic network that is entirely owned by its members and growing fast recently. Surfing the internet for 5 hours a month, you can get paid fixed income estimated $150. After sign up, you download the free viewbar, a tool of accumulating your time, and enjoy surfing the net as usual. Simple work and good to make money for your spare time. To make more money, it depends on your effort how many friends you refer and how much time you are given by them(maximum 1.2 hours for each). As it is still beta open period, you need to be patient for the payment which will be given after August. Agloco never asks you to pay or buy anything and sells your personal information which means NO RISK at all. Free to join, no investment, and no need credit card and specific career. If you are interested, click the source link below and read thoroughly how the system of Agloco works.

Work-at-Home ads/surveys/stuffing envelopes/data entry/typing/get paid
to read emails/view ads/assembling stuff sites usually don't pay off.
Be especially wary of ads that promise huge annual salaries; they often
require expensive upfront fees with no guarantee. You risk losing your
money and wasting a lot of time and energy.

Try the site below and watch the movie. This is a business that you work from home 100%. It normally costs $249 to get into the organization. Today is the last day that they are offering $25.00 to get started. This may or may not be for you. |

As others say, avoid those that require payment. If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. For example, envelope stuffing: a company tells you that with a one-time fee of $30-$40 to get their "kit" and instruction leaflet you'll be paid $2 per envelope that you stuff with their brochure and all the envelopes are supplied already stamped. Sounds good, right? What they fail to mention is that you'll be sent the $2 and SAE by the *prospective customer*, not the company! You have to place a newspaper ad asking people to send you both $2 and an SAE just to get the brochure. How many consumers would pay a company to send their own sales brochure? |
