I guess you are writing from the UK. If so, and you need a cheap website take this advice - all web development (IT) courses have loads of students that need a number of business projects. Our local college are always asking for businesses to be used as 'guinea pigs' for their students and the results are better that you would (perhaps) expect - the cost is zero - maybe there will be a small charge from your local college.
Once you've got your website you will need to get people to come to it. The only way to do this is by using an Internet Marketing service - look at http://www.optillion.co.uk

I used Mr Site for my website - I found it quite difficult to get my head around at first but I am proud of myself that I eventually managed to do it and it is quite successful. You can just buy the package from them or from PC world and it is everything you need to get started with an online shop for about £30. |

It's going to be hard to be taken seriously if you have a free website host. While they are available the customers will be bombarded with various pop ups and banner ads for all kinds of businesses. Both services are very easy to customize. If you don't have a business license, get one! You will be able to take sweet tax credits for your sweet business. Why wouldn't you want to write off your costs of business in an effort to make income? You can write off your business cards, home rental space, some utilities, business cell phone / voice mail, and so much more. If you are thinking of a business, make it profitable. If you are serious about business it is not a good idea to have a free website but go for a good one. You can get many free hosting companies but they will be useless to you. They will be advertising their business on your site and you do not get the information you need to monitor your business. |
