Do you have to pay for haveing a seller's account on ebay?
even if you don't put anything up for sale one month? I know you have to pay for selling but just want to know if you don't pay when you're not selling

Raine
No you only pay when you have listed and sold something.

No, you only pay if you're selling.

onsomethinguk
No, you get charged for the items as you sell them, and the charge varies depending on features like prominence, number of pictures and the like. Sometimes E-Bay have sales, including "1 penny listing day". Do make sure you pay your fees though as they don't remind you very well and they'll suddenly suspend your account if you don't.

Weatherman
NO

Caam
No but you do have to pay advertising fees, it cost me £2.62 to advertise a bike - plus it didnt sell, so was £2.62 down.

No but there is a schedule of fees to pay for when you list and sell an item. Ebay is a business. They will have to generate profit.

little.lost
No only if you put something on to sell!

You set up a seller's account, which includes them taking your credit card details, but the only time you will pay is when you list an item.

It's about 20p per item, unless you put a reserve price on it, in which case it's a percentage - not sure how much though.

You will be charged nothing at all unless you list, and the charge is per listing - you'll pay a few pence more if you put in a fancy one with more pictures and exciting text but the extra charges will be obvious and you don't have to use all the options.

Helen
No but I think your charged less than £2 to set up paypal so people can pay you on-line .

farfromhome
no, just extortionate charges as you sell. you pay your listing fee, final value fee, and vat. and if they pay with paypal(free to open) they charge another fee.

No you don't.

No just listing fees when you put something on and then about 95% of the value of what you sell when sold! Oh and pay-pal fees, credit card fees and fee fees (the flower tot)

First Lady
No, it's free to set up an account.

No, but you have to give e-bay your bank details and verification of your address so that they can charge you your e-bay fees once you have starting listing your items for sale. Also so you cant rip people off by selling fraudulent items.
