Last night i made a paypal account, using my credit card. I bought something and am now waiting to recieve it.
I was just making sure that you do not have to sell stuff to make a balance on your paypal account to THEN buy things? Or does it just charge it straight to your credit card and thats it?
No you don't have to sell anything in order to buy.
You have a couple of options when paying with paypal, either link it to your bank account (takes typically around 4-6 days to go through) or a credit/debit card.
You can either top up your paypal account with a money balance or just get the payment to be taken straight from your credit card (as you've done).
