I don't mean like a lawn mowing business or something like that, but a true business, like with offices, and employees and so forth and suchworth (it doesn't like that word). I am a minor, and as such I am seemingly bared in by school, and other childish responsibilities, yet I am unable to truly get a start. Yet I believe that I have the necessary skills to take on such an enormous task.
They say you can be anything you want when your grown up, I am at the pinticle of my stature, and yet I am still looked down upon (figuratively). Why do children wait to be "grown up" to follow their dreams.
I would also like to say I have begun on a preliminary draft of a business plan to start a Anime/manga production/distribution business. If anyone has pointers on how to complete a business plan, to best convey my ideas I would greatly appreciate any advice given. |

not to sound down on your idea, but you need to realize that in order to get any kind of a loan you would have to be of a certain age, and take out insurance policies, and have some sort of credit established and some sort of capital to put up as collateral for loans and so on... you may have the mental capabilities to run a business, but unfortunately, you are unable to do so because of policies that keep people from doing the exact thing you are trying to do. |

Whilst I'm sure you have the ability, not many people would be happy to talk business to a minor, or to work for one. Also, there are laws that prevent minors from working too much. |

Yes, I do think a minor can start a business. For the record, grass cutting is a real business. Never belittle the guy that does menial tasks. The fully grown man that cuts my grass has several crews working for him and operates across 1/4 the state. He's only been doing this for two years now and is quite successful.
When I was 15, I wanted a job. I lived in Green Bay, Wisconsin at the time. I walked up and down the streets trying to find someone who would hire me part-time after school. Everyone said I was too young. So, I decided to start my own print shop. Now, I walked up and down the streets promoting my company which got business form all the companies that thought I was too young. I printed their letter head, envelopes, business cards, post cards, sales brochures and so on. I even got hired (my printing company) to hand paint sale signs for the windows of an exclusive dress shop. After a while, a local college hired me to do four color silk screen printing of the activity covers.
So, yes, you can open a real business, even at a young age. Never let anyone discourage you. To find resources on a business plan, simply google "business plan" and you will find many examples of what to do. For more specific help, there is some software out there that will take you step by step. It is normally for sale in stores like Office Depot and things like that. |

There are many minors that start their own businesses. Although as far as offices and such you wouldn't be able to get a lease on your own because you need to be 18+ to sign stuff like that. But get yourself started and if you have it going good you can look forward to your 18th BDay to really expand it... |

Sure you can. It's no big surprise that you're looked down upon, that happens even when you become an adult and you're ready to finally make your dream come true. The key is to not let it bring you down, let the doubts from others build up your determination. I'm not particularly sure how to get into the Anime etc business but maybe if you get intouch with well known companies of the sort they could help you out? Don't rule it out just yet. This wasn't really helpful but good luck nonetheless! |

yes you can, but it will be hard to incorporate
since you are a minor
most will not be willing to lean you money since you are under age
but if you have your own capital
then all you would need is someone to sign the lease for the office that is of legal age,
yes it can be done, but you will need more steps since you are a minor |
