only if your a little kid, but go for lemonade instead, or even combine the two for like 1 cookie & 1 lemonade for a dollar. Then set up a stand where cars can easily stop and pull over if they want to stop.
I saw a few lemonade stands this summer and a few were on busier streets with no curb, so even if a car wanted to stop, it had no place to pull over to.
By a stop light is good, one that stays red for a long time, so you can go up to the passenger window. And have an adult close by because you will be selling to strangers.
And have the amount your selling for like $1, because someone isn't going to want to look for change as they drive by your stand, they won't have time. But everyone has a dollar in their pocket thats easy to get to. |

No. If you just start selling homemade cookies sooner or later you'll get sued by some unhappy customer or arrested for not paying taxes. You would need to establish your business as a legal entity, and pay liability insurance, and keep up with health codes, and all sorts of stuff.
As a one-time fundraiser, you're fine, but if you plan to make this a career or a regular money-maker, you have to go through the appropriate channels. Plus, most people are kinda wary about buying food on the street - there's no guarantee how clean your kitchen is. |
