what do you like and what are you naturally good at?

book keeping, web design / logos, garden designs etc? if something you can think of just start researching and planting seeds and see what grows over time.

some people buy and sell on internet etc etc but there is a knack to this as you know.

Try Mary Kay...no joke. It's good product and you can create a website where ppl can order with credit cards direct from you. It's really cool if you have the time to dedicate to it. I did it for a while, but I had another job and school, so I didn't have as much time as I would have liked to dedicate to my sales.

There are a ton of places that dont even have to be in your city that will send you "typing" work. Or I have heard other deals that they send you everything and you just send it back completed. I have known some people that have done these and either they were really please with it or others got ripped off.

I dont know if there would be a good company that I could tell you would be perfect because I think in that kind of business you get some con artists.

The best advice would be if you find one of these companies try to do some research on it first to make sure it isnt a scam and remeber you shouldnt have to put any money up to make money from one of these businesses unless you are looking at starting you own business.

I think it would be great! My friend is a single mother and works, goes to school, as well as run the house for her family.

You save on gas, your their when your kids are home if they need anything, you wont miss recitals, games, etc... you can work around your personal schedule and put you and your family first.

And the plus you could wear your jammies all day if you felt like it...wish I had that option!

The general idea of working from home is great. You never have to worry about being late, you can work in your pajamas. As a guy, you don't have shave, or fix you hair.

However, you must treat it as a regular job. Some do all the above, like they were going to the office, just to keep focused on their work. It is easy to get lazy, when working from home,or to put things off. I've done both, and honestly, I would rather get out of the house. When I go to the office, I am more productive, and a change of scenery is nice. It would be great if we could have it both ways, I would go in every other day and never on Fridays.

It depends on you. If you are a great self motivator, and can discipline yourself, than working from home will be very rewarding.
I don't know of any work from home jobs, that are advertised as such, that are worth pursuing. I worked for a firm, that allowed me to work with a laptop and an IP phone. It was awesome. But I actually was getting tired of being distracted by my wife and kids. I hope you have a spare room, that you can use as an office. Shut the door and stay in the zone. I actually thought that I would be able to do more things, when working from home, turns out, I worked harder, and didn't seem to get as much done as I would have liked.

Any site that asks you for money to sign up too, or it seems to good to be true, OR you can't understand how the money is being made from, don't even consider. There are some survey sites, but the surveys you can do are limited. I blog and add affiliates and do some eBay, but they take time. I know a lot about this topic so please forgive the length of this reply. I have a lot of good info for you. I am a mother of two little girls who are actually tugging on my arm as I write this so I will try to be brief. Many people are looking for work from home companies. All the scams definitely create a big problem but also, there is a problem of people misunderstanding the difference between work from home "jobs" and work from home opportunities. There really are not work from home “jobs”. To get that you have to start working for a company in their offices first, then they MAY allow you to take the job home.

Most of the work from home opportunities that are legitimate offers are not an hourly pay type job. They are business opportunities that help you in starting your own business from your home.

What you should do first is to decide if you are simply looking for an hourly rate type job or if you are looking for more of an opportunity for additional income such as what you would make in your own business being your own boss from home. Many say a JOB stands for Just Over Broker and I have found that to be true as well. I never got anywhere working for others.

Small home businesses have some small costs involved, less then $100 to start is reasonable and I would stay away from those wanting $300, $500 even some asking for $1000-$5000. It doesn’t cost that much to start and run a home business so you shouldn’t pay it. The real ones will have a small monthly overhead as well. Should be around $50 a month but no more then $75. And everything should be included from your web sites to training and team support to back office accounting and booking. It’s ok to pay this overhead because it’s a business, they cost money. It’s not reasonable to assume you can run a business from home with a website and more for free so do keep that in mind as you search.

If you are coming across places that say free then I would RUN don’t walk the other way! They never are. I tried them many a times and 3 weeks later I had to buy this and 6 weeks later that. After 6 months these “free businesses” had cost me over $800 on average.

I believe you do computer related works like data processing or entry or back office works. If so you register as a service provider on freelance sites (its free), list out all your skills and make a nice profile. You will find projects that suit to your skills. They will pay you thru safe escrow for your efforts.
