I have a close friend that works at the Y teaching water aerobics which is basically just a crap job for like less than $100 bucks a week and she has a great ebay business. I would be happy to give you her site address on ebay. She makes a bundle buying stuff at auctions in real life and re-selling them individually on ebay. |

Making a living on Ebay or any other auction site can be done but it takes dedication. Most auction sites will provide supplemental income more than making a living. But this also depends on your goals and what you think you would like to achieve...
saying 20 grand a year is possible....
more than 30+ is hard...unless you have a good product or service. |

i sell lots of stuff on e bay , and make a fair few quid out of it to . i sell all my kids clothes and mine ... the key i think is to think of what people maybe buying at the time of year ! for instance i just finished selling sunglasses that i bought from the net , i plan on looking for Xmas stock now toys and that sort of thing , i spend a lot of time on google looking for cheap sites then buy in bulk to sell on . but remember you need small items that are easy to post nothing to heavy or bulky, try doing a serch for catolouge surplus stock , as you can buy this at great prices.it can be great fun so go for it !! |

i don't sell anything but i do buy stuff.i've seen PowerSellers on eBay that make their living on eBay.they mostly buy wholesale items by the bulk and sell them.in order to do well,you'll have to research what's currently popular/trendy so that it'll appeal to more customers.some of these entrepreneurs/sellers make more money each month than college grads lol so who's the loser^__^ |

I don't, but I know of people who do. Occasionally, you hear stories of people making $30,000 or $40,000 a month from eBay sales. Personally, I think it would be quite difficult to make a living exclusively from eBay sales, and, if you also had a brick-and-mortar store or a stand alone e-Commerce site, your chance of success would be improved. There are late-night infomercials by persons claiming to offer a "system" to become wealthy from eBay selling. It might be worth spending $100 to get the information from them, if you are seriously thinking about doing this. |

im freind treid it he sold all the old junk out of his house. but he had to get a job to pay for the internet connection so i would so no. but with this job he gets a discount and car reltated things so he sells them on ebay now so i think their can be a balance. |

I do not, but I know two people who do.
One of them is a woman I used to work with who makes hand-beaded jewelry and accessories. She started off doing Ebay because she had so much stuff, and her business has grown to the point that she quit working for our county government and does Ebay full time. She keeps her stock up by buying beaded goods from other crafters in our area, but recently she hooked up with a crafters cooperative in a neighboring state and is also selling their stuff. She nets about $2500 a month after she has paid for all her merchandise and set aside her money for taxes. It isn't super money, but it's more than she was making working part time before, and she really enjoys it.
The other person is a guy I went to school with. He goes to junk yards and pulls hard to find trim pieces off of old cars, such as side view mirrors and hubcaps. Apparently, people restoring old cars are willing to pay a bundle to get original parts for their cars, because he's doing really well by doing that. His wife runs the business end, and answers all the mails and stuff, and he does the gathering of inventory. He told me it grew so much they now have 3 big storage spaces to store parts in, but they are looking at leasing warehouse space in the next year if things keep growing the way they are. At first he just did the junkyards in our area, but now he goes on buying trips all over the western US, and collects parts from all over the place.
As for baby clothing, I am afraid I cannot help you. However, you should be able to find something with a bit of dedicated searching. I have stumbled across websites that offer everything from leather goods to Asian silks for wholesale prices, so you should be able to find someone who manufactures baby clothing for the US market. |

I think alot of people here are seriously misinformed. My dad sells clothing and other merchandise he makes himself in his garage on ebay. he gets about 80 orders a week and does pretty well. ebay is an open market and youd be a fool to sell stuff to retail stores wholesale when you can sell direct to the consumer for much more.
Its all about where you get your goods. its cheaper and more profitable to open up a store on ebay then to rent a shop and sell your stuff there. not to mention advertising is minimal since its mostly word of mouth and on a national search engine. so, yes, the amount of money you can make is only limited by what youre selling and where you get your goods. i know of this lady who runs a bookstore picking up old and rare copies of stuff for basically nothing and selling them for 50 sometimes 100 bucks to the right bidders.
and DO NOT trust those get rich quick schemes about ebay. the deal with those is they give you a lead to buying wholesale crap, but when you go on ebay to sell that stuff there are about 30 people who are selling the same exact thing for the same price making it extremely difficult to sell anything. |

My husband & I use to and it is not just scammers we sold vhs videos and dvds baby formula and it helped me be able to stay home with my small children. In the 1st month and 1/2 we deposited over $10,000 in our bank account so it just depends on what you sell and another big seller is video games for playstation, game box, and nintendo. Also collector barbie dolls. LOL |

you cant make a liveing off of ebay. first you have to buy the item... lets take a 20$ shirt. what do u think that would go for USED even if u never wore it it is still used. it would probally go for 10$ starting bid if not less. it is impossible. but if it was............. |
