Wanda L | Does anyone know legit work from home companies? I'm willing to do data entry, filling out forms, etc.? |
I am a stay at home mom. I am looking to make some extra money.
I have been checking online about working at home ideas, but everything seems to be a scam or for the United States.
Does anyone know of companies in CANADA that are looking to hire someone like me?. I have even tried calling Pizza Pizza to take orders for them from home.
I would appreciate any and all of your help.
PLEASE ONLY LEGITIMATE COMPANIES!!! |

"If a company requires initial payment from you in order to work for them, they are not legitimate."
There are a few legitimate data entry companies but are not hiring and have large waiting lists (1-2yrs). The majority of data entry jobs you seen online are scams. A real company will want you to have skills inc fast typing, may want you to know MS Excel, and will usually ask that you have high speed internet. Once in a long while you may found one online on a job website but thats rare.
If you do an advanced search on yahoo, you will find previous answers, sometimes the info on these is good as the info they gave is likely to have been verified if the answer was voted as 'Best'. |

I know that JetBlue has customer service reps who work from home.
Although those jobs require you to be tied to a phone. Not a good idea if you are watching children.
But jobs like those are few and far between. You might have better luck just posting employment offers for your services online at various newspapers or job type companies and wait for the phone to ring. |

If you are an accomplished typist - word processor and have recently visited your local city college or university librarian, you can apply as a "certified" graduate typist, earning between $1.50 to $2.00 per page for a master or doctoral thesis. The librarian will provide you with a sample of the typing template (i.e., margin settings, font selection, page set up, etc.) in order to complete these projects. An average weekend income is about $300-$400 for two days work. A "certified" typist is defined as one who is familiar with Microsoft Word and is capable of setting up styles and numbering schemes following a typing templates provided by the librarian.

Here are my suggestions on finding a legitimate opportunity that's right for YOU:
- Set your financial goals -- Are you just looking for extra income or a potential full-time income? How long (and hard) are you willing to work to meet your goal?
- Determine if you are looking for a JOB or a BUSINESS -- there is a distinct difference between the two and you want to focus your energies appropriately for the best results.
- If looking for a JOB, what are your marketable skills and previous experiences? If you are looking for a BUSINESS, go with your passions, things that interest and motivate you the most. Build a list and use that to begin your search. General rule of thumb: Never pay for a job (businesses, on the other hand, usually involve some expenses). I recommend checking out the Telecommuting Moms folder here at WAHM.com for leads on home JOBS. I also have some resources for freelance work and telecommuting jobs on my Work From Home site.
- Review your budget -- know ahead of time what you are willing and able to invest into your business, including start-up costs and ongoing maintenance and promotion.
- Find a rep to contact, check out their websites, ask questions, do your own independent research. Check resources such as www.bbb.org for potential scams. |

Not sure about a specific company, but wanted to offer another avenue to consider. There are a plethora of websites & blogs that continually look for well written articles and ghost writers.
You can search on article writers to begin. You may also search on subjects that interest you; and check with webmasters or blog owners their interest in buying articles from you. They can be anywhere between 400 - 800 words each. Write a couple of articles provide as quality of work examples. You could also list your services on sites like elance.com and some others. Getting started articles may be $8 -$10 each more experienced get a lot more.
This might even work into a business relationship with a website owner that would allow you to work in re-occuring income possibilites.
May not be exactly what you intended but could lead to hidden opportunities.
To Your Success!
