From my personal experience, the best legitimate way you can work from home and make a "sufficient" amount of money is from a home based businesses. Plenty of industries out there in which you can collaborate with and run a business out of your home.
I know a yahoo article that has several different industries to look into. From Child Daycare Centers-Telecommunications-travel etc. A lot of really good information on home based businesses, what's involved, what you need to do etc etc. You should take a look at it.
The next legitament way to work from home and make money is apply for a home job. You make minimum wage, but there are legitament ways out there. |

Well, most of the time they will just be stupid run arounds in order for the website you are on to make some money havings you visit their partners and affiliates.
The only way to make some money online would be to sell a product of some sort.
And try to stay away from dropshipping and basically anything that asks you to spend money to make money unless it's like buying merchandise. |

You got to define what you mean by work from home.
As an employee or as a business owner.
If you are looking to become an employee then do your research on telecommuting jobs. Obviously you will require certain skill sets to get these jobs Most of them are either customer service, sales,and a few are technical. I suggest you search job boards like monster com for telecommuting jobs.
Now if you are looking to a run a business from home, understand that every business will require some sort of outlay in order to get going.
I know of dozens of legitimate business you can run from home and generate a serious income.
The one below is a great place to start for people are new to making money on the internet.. Simple, little cost and large earning potential. |

The work from home jobs that aren't scams actually require work on your part - and if you're in need of money soon then you're likely to be sorely disappointed in any of those as well. Most of the legit opportunities out there take time to build - so if someone makes an outrageous claim of income it probably isn't true ( and those that are true sure didn't make that kind of money when they first began ).

I have other ideas that may help - one of them is an online opportunity but another is one that will require a little effort to market yourself - try some data entry for local businesses, many of them don't have the time to do it in-house and will gladly pay someone else to do it. Professionals are a good place to start, lawyers, doctors, chiropractors, etc - they need their "in-house" folks doing other things rather than busy work.
