I will be starting a new business soon and want to create a website for it. I am looking to save as much money as possible. I want a website where I can put pictures and links and stuff for free.
I don't know how much geeky you want to get into, but you can make your own server.
All you need is a computer running windows 98, 2000, NT, XP, or Vista. Mac and Linux will work to, but I'm not very familiar with either one.
If you have any of the above you can download Apache HTTP Server. It is free, and hosts a large majority of private websites.
It does require you to do your own programing, or you can get a WYSIWYG software, such as Microsoft Frontpage.
