I've been doing some work with www.elance.com the past week, all the work is home based, data entry, transcription etc. The only thing is you're competing against people from countries where the hourly rate of pay is a lot lower, so not sure if it would be worth it for you.
Also have a look at the jobs listed here, most are appicable to us,canada,europe, its quite good, thats where I found the above link.

Its been updated today to include some Craft type jobs which can be done from home, mainly re-distribution, but it possible to make good money from it if you work hard.
So many online jobs are out there. In fact, to do any online job, you need not want to invest anything. Make sure, you dont pay anything to get jobs online. I have tried many “work from home” systems and all have failed! However I just got in to a system a few months back and it is the best thing ever!! I work just a few hours a day and I bring in LOADS of cash. It’s not that hard do but with anything the more time you put into it the more you will get out. First, never, ever pay to get a job! Legitimate companies will not charge you to work for them. Finding these companies can be an overwhelming task, but I have a good resource for you.... http://www.workathomedesk.com is a free site that has an excellent directory of companies that hire home workers and also has frequently updated job leads. The only expenses you should have to work from home are high speed internet and equipment like a headset. Hope this helps. Good luck. |

There are a few legitimate data entry companies but are not hiring and have large waiting lists (1-2yrs). The majority of data entry jobs you seen online are scams. A real company will want you to have skills (fast typing, 10 key), may want you to know excel, and will usually ask that you have high speed internet. Once in a long while you may found one online on a job website but it is rare.

One option is to freelance and bid for data entry jobs. However, you are bidding along with many people and often other countries-so you may have to bid really low just to get a job and/or project.
Another option is to offer data entry services to businesses in your area. It can be done, I know people who have done this but it is not easy to do.

long term steady income require some patience and dedication.. fast n easy money r mostly scams..
I have been successful with adsense and pretty happy with it till now, Its free to start with so no startup cost whatsoever. what i suggest is start your own blog/site and monetize it with adsense, or get some content writing assignments, you can also try data entry or writing sponsored articles and reviews.

I just spent several months researching "at home businesses" and I have to tell you it is almost impossible to find anything that doesn't require a fee. Espescially if you want to make any in return.
