Does anyone make money on Ebay?
I have 100% positvive feedback and over 100 transactions done. I like to buy because I can get stuff real cheap. Sometimes I feel bad for the seller because I get books, videos, and collectibles for a lot less than what I know they are worth. I've tried selling, and is bad enough no one ever bids what the item is really worth, then I also have to pay fees.

eBay has become a very important marketplace for home business owners. Many people are making a living or earning additional income by selling on eBay.

One success model of eBay is the couple Jay and Marie Senese (username jayandmarie) http://stores.ebay.com/JayAndMarie of the 1-cent CD fame. They have the highest positive feedback number of all sellers on eBay. Their business model is to buy very low cost CDs in bulk (those that CD stores sell in their discount bins) and offer them on eBay at a starting price of 1 cent. Their success is based on the fact that they stumbled on a sustainable business model with products that people really want. They sold their business -- where else but on eBay -- for starting bid of $5 million!

But while some are enjoying phenomenal success on eBay, selling on eBay is not as easy as some portray. For one, competition is getting tough, as more sellers flock to eBay; with even the big boys joining the eBay marketplace. Big businesses such as Sears, Dell, Hewlett Packard among others are now using eBay as an additional sales channel for their products (including returns and defective merchandise). With more and more sellers participating in the eBay marketplace, it has become harder for listings to be seen by potential buyers. Just go to eBay and check out completed auctions and you will find many listings that ended without a single bid.

Add to that the increasing listing and final value fees, and eBay is slowly becoming an expensive marketplace. Imagine if you list 100 items, but only 10 ended up with bids – and all of them your minimum bids. A 10% selling rate is all too common, with some even seeing worse selling percentages. If this low sell-through rate persists, you will start to feel the pinch of all the listing and other fees associated with selling on eBay.

To be successful on eBay, you only need to do one thing: Sell products that people actually want.

The article “How to Find the Hottest Products to Sell on eBay” lists the various ways eBay helps sellers like you to determine exactly what the hot items to sell on their marketplace, as follows:

Items In Demand = the most popular items currently within that particular category. To see the In Demand page, go to http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/sellbycategory.html

Hot Items by Category Report = a monthly report that lists the fastest growing categories on eBay for the previous month. Go to http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/whatshot.html and select "Hot Items by Category" from the menu on the left.

eBay Pulse = "a daily snapshot of current trends, hot picks, and cool stuff on eBay". Go to http://pulse.eBay.com/ to see eBay Pulse in action.

Merchandising Calendar = eBay promotes specific categories on its home page each month. Savvy eBayers know that this home page exposure results in more interest in such categories. Go to http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/calendar.html to view the current Merchandising Calendar.

I have made quite a bit of money on eBay. I do it for fun though (and making money IS fun). Unfortunately, items are REALLY only worth what people are willing to pay.

Rather than selling things I believe to be worth a lot of money on eBay, I watch the supply and demand . . 'hot' items. Then I find a resource for those and sell that item.

MY FIANCE PARENTS MADE A LIVING OF EBAY FOR ABOUT TWO YEARS! THEY WOULD GO TO AUCTIONS AND BUY BOXES OF STUFF FOR DOLLARS AND SELL THE STUFF IN THE BOXES FOR A LOT MORE MONEY. NOW THEY JUST DO IT WHEN THEY HAVE THE TIME.

yes, if there weren't money being made, it wouldn't exist. i have sold on e bay, and yes, sometimes you lose a little on individual items, but overall you come out ahead. that has been my experience.

EBAY Make lots of Money.
So also do Paypal and other companies providing money transfer services.
Finally, the sellers do make some money as well. There are some businesses that operate solely on EBay and have donme so for years so they must be making something out of it!!!!

Its ME!!
My sister and brother in law started to sell on ebay...they went to http://www.liquidation.com/ and bought a pallet of housewears for cheap (230.00) for over 150 things ( blenders, george formans ect) and sells it on ebay. So far they have tripled what they spent on the pallet....check it out

Earnings can go up to as high as 150k per year and higher. So yes, you can surely do make a living off of E-bay. You need to put in work however. It is basically an internet based entrepreneur venture, should you want to precieve it that way...

The Mad Marketer
Yes there are lots of people that make a living on eBay. There are some great resources to check out at:
