Does it cost me anything to just list something for sale on ebay?

Yes, depending on how much you start it at... and how many pictures etc. Though just pennies compared to what you get from selling something.

dewkisses02
Yes it does, whether you sell it or not. Here's a link.

Yes it does. For a basic listing, (i.e 1 picture, no special settings) it will cost you .70 cents. The first picture is free, but each additional picture is .15 cents. Listing designer, (where you can decorate your page) cost .10 cents. The other options vary. However, ebay is still fun and worth it, if you research your product before listing! Good luck!

Normally they do charge you a nominal fee. If you have signed up already , and just left your account inactive, they send you notices of free listings every now and then.
I suggest you find a friend in your neighborhood , or in your private circle of frineds to list your item for you.
What are friends for anyway.

seay28
Yes it does.

Yes.
It varies on how much your starting price for the item is.
the lower the starting price, the lower the % that ebay takes out of your final price!

wrkey
Your cost is computed based on a couple of things.

First there is a basic listing fee. Then depending upon the 'starting price' there is an amount added on (the higher the starting price the higher the fee). There are other charges based on the optional 'features' you added to your listing (bold, features, photo storage, etc). If your item get's no bids, these 'listing fees' are all you pay.

However, if you get bids your item will either sell for the highest amount bid or it won't sell because you have set a 'reserve price'. Reserve price listings will cost more and the rate is based on the reserve amount. Listings that 'sell' are then asseted a fee based on a percentage of the highest bid price.

Getting a 'user id' on eBay is completely free and they have 'tutorials' that outline their auction process and the cost to use their service. So.. I would suggest that you go to eBay, get a userid and read through the 'selling' tutorial.

Good Luck and I hope this answers the question.

Yes. There is a listing fee plus there are additional add-on features that you can put in your auction which cost extra money. When the item sells, ebay does get a small percent of the final auction price. Check out the link below for more information.

Yes it will cost you a small listing fee. Each extra picture, BOLD type, ect costs a little more.

Just a helpful tip though, please at least put one pic if you do decide to list. I always hit the back button if I can't see a picture. You can also go through a site at

www.auctivia.com

This is a free site and it allows you to use more than one pic for no cost, you still pay a small fee to eBay but you don't pay for the extra pictures...

Yes there is a insertion fee of like 30 cents, then your first picture is free and every addition pic is 15 cents. The price goes up if you want extra frills such as boarders and backgrounds and then for it to be highlighted first when people are searching for it. Then you also have to pay a fee according to how much is sells for. I am not exactly sure what the amount is so don't quote me but it something like 10%. So if you sell something for $300 you owe ebay $30. Then another fee is taken out if you receive your money from paypal from the buyer. That is now owned by ebay as well. That is basically how they make their money, by all of the small fees. Then you need to remember the old saying "Ain't nothin' in this world for free." I'm sure on the website it has somewhere that tells if you are looking for further information.

Yes there is a listing fee and a fee per photo if you use more than one through ebay and then there is a final fee if your item sells.

Jennifer L
theres a small listing fee i think maybe 50 cents... one picture is free

there are so many extras that cost 5 cents to 5 dollars, and it adds up!

your best bet is to make it basic so you make the most money off of it. That is unless you are selling something really expensive!

Be careful with shipping too! Take your item to a UPS store and ask how much it would be to ship and then charge that for the shipping or maybe a little more.
