I am 13 years old, and I have already planned out my life so far.
I want to study cooking, and get a job at a bakery or cake shop, or similar. I want to save up lots of money, fly to the states (from Meloburne, Australia) and live there (perhaps Florida?) i want to open my own cake and dessert shop, and hopefully earn lots :D
Then when i have enough money, I want to move to Hollywood and open another shop, and become a cake maker and decorator for celebrities weddings.
Does this sound realistic at all? How could this not work out? |

Just some advice here - start from now baking your own cakes and bread at home. If you are fortunate enough to have the occasional cookery lesson in school then all well and good.
Forget Hollywood, USA or any ex British colonies, unless you want to pander to spoilt brats. Try to follow the example of the great British/ European chefs / patissiers and become a superb baker rather than a fashionable one. There is more to life than money - reputation for quality is what you need and in the end if you are good enough, you will have more than your 15 minutes of fame.
Good luck, but don't get your head turned by so called glamorous places. If you love baking then stay in Europe- we have the best bakers in the world! |

If you want to do it badly enough then anything is possible. Try to achieve one reasonable step at a time rather than a big leap- don't set your targets toooooo high. |

It sounds very doable however keep in mind the pay rate. in a cake shop / Bakery you may be saving a lot longer time than what you intend. good luck remember to have fun and some of the best things in life are not planed . |

Why move to Australia, or Florida? Why not New York or LA? Then you can apprentice/intern with a famous cake designer while enrolled in a chiefs school and take some art classes. The best cakes I have seen have been inspired by classical art designs. The most important part is that this is what you enjoy doing. Because you will have to do it everyday. |
