Ebay feedback?
I sold an item on ebay and dispatched immeaditely i received payment. I believe the buyer should have received it by now coz I sent it on royal 1st class stamp. I have already left the buyer positive feedback but he has not left any feedback for me. Should I prompt him to do so or how does the rule on ebay feedback work. I am a first time ebayer so I really need feedback

He may have forgotton. Or, some people just don't want to take the time to leave feedback. I don't think it would be a bad idea to send him a message regarding that. Something like: "I hope you received the item you purchased from me and are enjoying it. I have left you positive feedback and would appreciate if you would take the time to do the same for me. Thank you."

Also, some people just take a long time to leave feedback. I've received feedback on items a month after I purchased or sold them.

What i always do is write them an email and ask if there were any problems with the transaction that i could correct that are stopping them from leaving positive feedback.

Hi,i am a seller on ebay, like you i never leave feedback first, but it is not a rule to leave feedback,if a person dosnt leave it for me i never email them to ask them to leave it,leave it a bit longer as they have 60 days to leave feedback some people wait until they have a few to leave then do it all at once...but dont leave them feedback first sellers never do

The Death Bunny
feedback on ebay is optional. you don't have to leave fedback as a buyer or seller....
If you plead for feedback, it could annoy the buyer...
However, you could send the buyer a polite request, stating that you 'find feedback useful because it confirms that the buyer has received the item and is satisfied' it doesnt sound like you're pleading for feedback, just trying to keep your records straight.

feedback is voluntary so the buyer doen't have to leave feedback for you.. if you prompt the buyer this might annoy him and he could leave you a negative feedback.. if you accept paypal you shuld use recorded delivery because if a buyer doen't receive an item and you cant provide a tracking number Paypal will always favour the buyer.. dont worry about feedback. we all started with 0 your score will build up gradually. there are always people who never leave feedback. most sellers only leave feedback AFTER the buyer has left it

wish I were
There is no rule, you leave feedback if you like, but don't have to. Nothing wrong in prompting them to see if they will. You need it since you are new! Best of luck!

IP_Outcast
You could write a polite follow up email hinting at the fact that you're after feedback. Basically if you just make it see that you're checking on whether the item arrived okay and on time that should be enough. Also make a point of saying that you have left positive feedback for them.

Just email and say you hope they recieved it and are happy - oh and you would appreciate feedback as you are new to eBay!

Ebay automatically send the buyer a reminder if they haven't left feedback within the allotted time, I do agree however that it is only courteous to the seller to leave feedback if a good service has been recieved.

Perhaps drop him an email to check that he has received the item in good condition to prompt a response from him.

if i'm selling something i usually let them leave feedback first, if you've left a good feedback and they now leave you a bad one you can't leave a bad one back. Email the person telling them you have left a positive feedback and if they can do the same.

sumaspikey
Give them a bit more time, Ebay can't force anyone to leave feedback. Leave it a couple more days and then enquire as to whether they are happy with it or not.

You can encourage them to leave you some feedback by inquiring if they got the item and saying if so, feedback is appreciated.

Just send them an e-mail asking if they received the item and if everything's ok. If it is, kindly ask them to leave you positive feedback and tell them that you've done the same already.

dreams
Hi yes you should ask them if they have received the item yet and if they have could they be so kind as to leave you feedback.
I did this when i started on there, you will find most people will leave you feedback..maybe she has just forgotten.
next time you sell dont leave feedback untill they have left you some
This way they are more likely to leave you good feedback as they wont want you to leave them bad feedback.
Welcome to the great world of selling on ebay
