First of all, to all those people who say it can't be done; it can be done, I've seen it.
I've tried to calculate it before on my own feedback, and it never seems to work. I'm pretty sure my math is right, it's just eBay doesn't seem to do math the same way :o) Mine should have gone up after a certain point and it didn't, it took a lot longer.
What I would suggest to you is to find the person who left you that negative and suck up to them with everything you've got. Then ask them to withdraw their feedback. Yes, I'm sure you were in the right, there are some really nasty buyers out there. Unfortunately that doesn't help your feedback, and it will effect your sales. Just make sure you are still eligible for the mutual feedback withdraw, there's a time limit. Here's the link:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/feedback/questions/mutual-withdrawal.html
If you have to refund to get it, then refund. Keep extra money in your budget for refunds to unreasonable people. I know you'd rather teach them a lesson, but you're going to end up hurting from it more than them. And when your feedback gets really up there and it's still 100%, people will be less likely to try and scam you.
Good Luck!
--edit--
I'm just adding ... to the responders that said that 99.9% is the same as 100 ... it's really not. I'll buy from someone with 99.9%, but if I'm looking at a long list of auctions for an identical item, I will do a ctrl+F and search for 100% out of the list and look at them first. And some buyers won't buy from someone with less than 100% feedback. It does matter. |

You need more than 99.95% to go back to 100%, which means 5 in 10,000 or 1 in 2,000. So, the magic number is 2,000 to go back to 100%. Keep working. |

This is a feedback calculator. You need to put in the number of positive fbs you've received and the negatives and it will tell you what you need. http://home.alltel.net/micrep/feedback.html
Generally around 2000 to bring it back up. Ebay did implement a new policy about a year ago where after 3 or 4 years, the negs would drop off and you would have your 100% back.
I got a neg last Christmas and wear it with pride, the buyer took 2 weeks to pay- paid the 22nd and expected Christmas delivery. I'm not Santa.
I have 1935 fb and 1 neg- big deal- if that keeps someone from buying from me then so be it- but it doesn't make you a bad seller from 1 neg. That's a ridiculous statement from some of the other posters.
Just follow up with what happened under their fb using the "respond to fb left" and let the buyers determine if they'd like to buy from you. Unless you have under 50 feedback, I would not start a new ID. I won't buy from 0 fb sellers and it takes a long time to get that number up to a decent level where buyers feel comfortable with you.
Good Luck! |

you can remove negatives through squaretrade, as long as they are after 2004.
visit my site for the full guide on removing negative feedback. |

cant give you an answer without how many positive and negative you have. but i dont think its that big a deal. 99.9% is as close to 100% as it gets. im sure most people wouldnt have a problem with buying from someone with a feedback of 99.9% |

What you have to do to is get the person that gave you the neg. Feed back to withdraw it.
You both must mutually withdraw. The other person must agree to doing it as well eBay will send them a email. you can fill out the online form to make this request
http://pages.ebay.ca/help/account/withdraw-feedback.html
This is the only way that you will get it back to 100% |

I was always under the impression that you cannot reach 100% again after a negative, BUT I know that some feedback is not available after 90 days or so, so maybe they go by that? In 3 months see if the negative still shows.
I am pretty sure though that you can't get back up to a perfect score. You can always get on Ebay's live help and ask them |

My feedback is 99.8% I have 550 feedback score and I got a negative around a year ago from some horrid person (again not my fault). that was at least between 100 ang 300 feedbacks back and I'm still waiting for mine to be returned to 100%. You might want to use the Contact area of Ebay and ask them. There is probably some sort of formula they use. |

You should be able to figure it out. Obviously rounding is involved. If you have 1 in 1000 that rounds to 99.9, if you have 5 in 10,000 that rounds to 100.0
Challenge the negative using eBay methods, reducing that is easier than doing 9000 sales. |

I don't think you can ever get back to 100% once your rating drops. I'm on eBay and i have 13 positives so far and i'm careful because i want to keep it that way. However, i know eventually somebody will come along and ruin my rating. How many people actually sell 1,000 items and have a perfect rating? Anyways don't worry the more you sell and more positives you get the higher your rating will go. When you have 99.6 and up you are usually considered a great seller! Good luck! |

you can never get to 100 again because you will always have that negative so you cant have 100% positive due to that |

You will not get it back, It only takes one neg feedback. Change you ID completely would do it. |

negative feedback is not kept for more than 90 days in your percentage. And it is not even kept in your detailed feedback for more than 12 months. Just be patient! You will get back to 100% soon! |

You sound like a risky seller. I would be nervous about buying from you.
You need about 9,999 positives to cancel out that negative and round up to 100%. |

you need 7 more positives |
