The email asks if I will consider a " Buy it now" offer..Not sure what this is ,there are no fees to Ebay involved I expect.
price has been offered at £250 which is pretty good .
The potential buyers feedback is 97%. Looks like it is a watch reseller from the feedback, most of the comments are positive but some are quite scathing..
What is the general advice, wait for auction to finish as it has only just started or take the money and cut? There are no bids on it aprt from this enquiry but is has only been 24 hours? |

i would agree if its a good price and wait until you have the money before ending the auction and please send your item recorded delivery as they might try and say its not arrived and if they pay by paypal and you don't have a tracking number you will loose the item plus the money all the best |

How badly do you want to sell. If you accept paypal you will get money before you send the watch. If it's a good offer I would take it as you may well get no other interest. |

If the auction has more than 24 hours you can add a buy it now feature, however this guy may know something you don't, as long as the payment for the buyer is received, it really doesn't matter. It can be done, and you will still pay all the normal ebay fees, listing and final % of sale price.
Also, what is the rush? If the person is offering enough to make you happy it, it may save you the aggrevation of waiting for it to end, but most bidders don't bid until the last few hours of an auction, the rest of the time is more of an advertisement time for people to see what is for sale.
I never put a buy it now on my auction, take the fun out of it.
If you are afraid bidding won't get that high, then change it.
Sorry I wasn't more clear, but it really is a personnel decision. |

If your happy with the price go for it, check the legitimacy of his feedback, and also make sure he's not from Africa and that you get the money before sending the watch. |

Let the auction finish and invite him to bid. He wants to try to get it for cheaper by asking you to sell to him now. 97% is not that great of a feedback rating. |

If you are happy to accept £250 then you can. However, you have only just listed the watch and it is a catch 22 situation. You might get a higher bid or you might not. Only you can decide what to do. You will still have to pay e-bay for listing your' watch, plus the percentage of the selling price, no way out of that one. |

If the person is a buyer/seller of watches then maybe they know they'll get more than 250, so I'd wait and see what goes down. |

Just get him to send payment prior to despatch, whether his rating is good or bad as long as you get money up front you have nothing to be scared of, I have had this several times, just edit your listing to buy it now and inform him straight away so he can put his offer in, of just agree with him then end the sale.
As I say money up front cleared in your bank or through Paypal and nothing to worry about. |
