Hello, can anyone tell me how i can become a powerseller on ebay, how can i find wholesalers and do i need to tax ID card, i want to sell small items of electronics such as phones and ipods and maybe football shirts. How to i start off, is it too complicated and is there too much legal requirements?

I am an importer/exporter/liquidator and I do a lot of business with eBay sellers.
Most eBay sellers just start of selling things they have around the house, things they don't need or use any more but still have some value. They sell those items, kind of like an online garage sale, because it gives them some money, plus they have a chance to learn the details of selling on eBay.
Then they can use some of those profits to buy items wholesale and start to sell them.
When you are starting small, like selling items from around the house, you normally don't need to get a business license. However, if you want to get serious, most Power Sellers set up a place in their home for shipping/warehousing (or get a small storage room at a U-Store-It), an eBay store, and often a web page. About this time you should worry about taxes and business licenses.

There are FREE ebook that tell you how to get started. The guy who wrote them is on the directors board for ebay. you don't have to buy their service to read the ebooks, but I found the best suppliers around. They are real wholesalers. It was the best move I ever made for my business. |

Start small and ease into it. You can build up to being a Powerseller. If you do any quantity of sales, you will need a resellers number in the state you live. There is ALOT of info on ebay. Check out the discussion groups and forums.
