do u think you will get the buy it now price. I like to list using the auction as I like to see people bidding it up hopefully but I am not worried about making mega bucks.
To be honest I feel the whole ebay thing is a bit of a chore rather answer questions on here lol |

It depends on the item and how desperately people want it. With buy it now you are deciding the price and it may or may not sell, with auctions the bidders are deciding on the price and it will have more of a chance of being bought. |

depends on the product you are selling. You will get more zero bidders and deadbeats from auction listings but better interest in the item. People feel all warm and fuzzy inside when they beat out other people by $1 for an item in an auction |

I prefer the auction. You can put a reserve price on your items so they can't sell for any lower than you want them to. Put the reserve as what you would sell them for at buy it now and you can't lose.

it would depend if there are alot of the same item listed on there. I always use buy it now if its between $8 difference between an auction . |

i'd say auction. Cos you could put something on as buy it now at £10, but via action it could be bidded higher and you can get more for it.
If you are worried about not getting enough you can also put a reserve price on, or put the starting price high. |

I alway put my things on there auction style with the lowest price that i'm willing to sell it for and thats my reserve price is..
It usually brings more that way. |

It depends on the items for sale. You can use both. I will take a look on Ebay about what are they selling. If I have one and look better than them. I will use auction style and start with the low price. It will make the buyer interesting. |

the best thing to do is search on completed sales of similar items.
*what price do they go for? are they mainly on auction or buy it now? Is the normal price at or above the level you are prepared to sell?
*Ebay is a funny place make sure your auctions start, and therefore end, around 8pm to 10pm preferably ending Thursday or Sunday night.
*Make sure the start price is a price that you do not mind the item going for if putting on auction
* weigh the item, add weight for packaging and check on royal mail what postage price will actually be.
*NB everything should go at least recorded delivery so you do not get left with no item and having to refund. It is always up to you to prove the item was received if someone claims it wasn't. certificate of posting is NOT enough. High value items should be sent special delivery, make sure you factor in the cost of this in your postal charges.
* factor in the ebay/paypal charges when calculating profits etc.
* auctions with gallery photos sell at higher price.
* take decent photographs and use photobucket or similar hosting service so you only pay for the first photo
* describe in detail, colour, size, dimensions, purpose any defects or special points
* use the title well....do not put 'look', 'excellent' or superlatives. If new put BNWT/NEW/BNIB state make style name or number and possible RRP
Basically research, clarity and full descriptions are important. |
