JonasBro L | Employee HELP!? |
Ok recently I had a fight with another emplyoee (Verbally)
I did stated it because I didn't like him and we bumed into each other.
I was brought in to the office to have a discoussion of the issue.
My boss told me your the one who started it first, so you have a suspension for a week and next week I do not know if you will get hours will see. Call the store to find out if you have hours or not.
Will I have been doing that and every other week I haven't receive any hours.
It's been a month and a week since I've been out of work.
What should I do? Sue him?
Give me some advice please, this is not fair.
And don't say get another job this is the best one yet.
Thanks Additional Details Age- 18

Start a fight and then sue someone? Great idea.
This should have taught you to think before you speak / act.
Talk to your boss, apologize for screwing up. Apologize to the guy you fought with. Be sincere and caring.
You really should have thought about this being your best job ever before risking it like this. An employee can't tolerate employees fighting. Employees are part of a team and need to work together not against each other.
Try to get your job back, but whatever happens take this as a learning experience. |

My advice. Move on. You screwed up. |

Sue who? and for what? The boss doesn't owe you ANY hours, even if you hadn't gotten into this issue with the other employee, so there's nothing to sue him for - he can just take you off the schedule permanently if he wants to.
The other employee? It sounds like maybe you were both at fault. And in any case it doesn't sound like either of you did anything you'd be legally liable for.
OK, you had a job that was "the best one yet" and you let losing your temper screw it up. Try apologizing to the manager. If he doesn't restore your hours though, all you can do is learn from it, and move on. |

You may not be able to sue. You may be in a right to work state (or whatever it's called), where you can be fired, terminated, etc., at the employers discretion.
I would take the bull by the horns, so to speak. Have a talk with your boss. Apologize for any inappropriate behavior. Try not to put too much of the blame on the other employee, because that makes you look bad. Accept the responsibility that you are the cause of. Tell your boss it won't happen again, that you love your job, and want to show him/her that you can be a model employee. I think that may get through to him/her, and perhaps you'll get your hours back. A good worker is hard to find.
Best wishes |

If you really like the job... Your best chance would probably be to go in and apologize like crazy to the boss, say you learned your lesson, you like working there a lot, you miss everybody, you now understand you'll have to keep control of yourself because your job is important to you, etc... Don't push... just be sorry and bummed out... People respond better to butt kissing than you might think.
If that doesn't work... you'll have to deal with the fact that they're trying to fire you without actually doing so, possibly to prevent you from getting unemployment if you've been there long enough? Seems like they're trying to make you give up so they can say you quit for some reason.
Basically, an employer can fire you if they don't get along with you or consider you disruptive. You won't win any case about being fired unfairly. But, if there is unemployment money at stake, you'll have to do whatever it takes to prove you were fired and didn't quit. Start by telling them straight out... I'm not giving up. You said a two week suspension. Put me to work or fire me... or I'll have to go through other channels to get this settled. |

you're fired. end of story. im sorry, but this is a fact. let it go and move on. you will never work there again. |

You should contact your boss (assuming you are still employed there) and ask about if you can return to work. It probably isn't fair that you started a fight with the other employee either at work. You might want to contact your Job Service in your town. They would have guidelines and be able to further assist you with this. |

I'm not telling you to get another job, you obviously aren't mature enough to work yet.
If you haven't figured it out yet, you don't have a job. They've probably already replaced you and the person you verbally assaulted is laughing his a$$ off.
Yes. Go ahead and sue him. I'd like to see you lose some more of your money after you pay for filing and his attorneys fees after you lose the case.

ugh. sucks you got suspension!!
i say youm ought to get a new job. i dont think you can really sue him. maybe the best you can do is start a complaint. and you're only 18 so if you leave out the fight on your resume and just said you had staff diffulities or something. you'll be fine. |

Go to the store and ask him. If he says that you are fired he better have a good reason. That dosnt go with the suspension. If he says theres no work then keep trying to phone him or going to the store everyday untill you get some. If those dont work then sue. |
