First off, people who think having a home based business requires high pressure sales are destined for failure in the long run. 99% of the population is sales resistance. And it's not about making a list of friends and family either.
I wrote a blog on advice for working from home. It's not a commercial like some articles end up being, just straight information on things I learned on the road to success. You can find a link in the second paragraph of my profile here on answers.

Hello~
You will probably get a ton of responses to your post. What you need to think about is
1. what are you interested in? could you promote the business?
2. what are your start up costs? Other costs involved?
3. when do you get paid? How do you get paid?
You need to remember, that many home business' is exactly that "Your business" The work you put into it the more you get out. Be careful of all get rich quick scemes. I have been looking for the answer for 8 years now. I am a firm believer that there is a business that is right for each individual. It just depends on what you believe in.

Well, I use Get Paid To (GPT) websites to make money online/from home. They're simple really. You just complete offers or take a survey and you get paid for it. And they're free to join.
