Well your area might help!
Same happens in my area but now I know what to bring to which shop. |

depends if you want to get money for them. If not, if your aim is just to get shot of it, register the items on www.freecycle.org. It's for people to get rid of stuff (and obtain stuff) for free and has local sites all over the place. |

Try a pawn shop and tell them the things have sentimental value to you and that you WILL be back. Take the money and run!!! |

Yes. It's called a local council rubbish tip. Let's face it, if a 2nd-hand shop won't take it, it can't be up to much, can it!!! |

if you are giving them away there is always good will or salvation army, although ;most of your stuff will end up in the dumpster there if its just junk. You could post some stuff on freecycle on yahoo, or craigslist. Some churches take stuff. |

Just leave them outside when they are closed (like everyone else does) then you wont have to worry! |
