It depends on what sort of business you are setting up. For example if you were setting up a personal service business you may get away with very little investment. Some money for a web site but you may be able to use a free service. You may need transportation as if you are not buying premises you will need to travel to the clients and you may need the tools of your trade. Which if you were a consultant may not be more that pen and paper, although a laptop and printer. It does mean that you may have to depend on friends and family housing and feeding you while the business starts up.
You will also need money for marketing or provide cheap services to get established. |

You can start your own business with no money!! Your time is worth something, so think of a service that you could sell (dog walking, baby/house sitting, car washing, personal trainer etc. etc.) and go and do it (costs you nothing).
Look around your home, do you have some items that you don't love or use that you could sell on eBay for £££'s?
Alternatively, you could use one pound (and a few more) to buy items cheap and sell them for a profit. In markets in towns and cities you can hire a stall and sell them, you can set up a virtual stall on eBay, you can hire a stall at car boot sales - anything.
If you really want to make money there is no limit - just depends upon how determined you are.

Depends what you want to do. It's quite possible to runa self-financed business, many people do. Work freelance for other people, for example. If you have to manufacture or otherwise resource your business, eg employ people, the it all starts to get a bit more complicated. |

Try and raise capital yourself. Try selling unwanted things oppose to throwing them away. Try and save money whenever you can, i.e. try walking rather than getting a bus!!! |
