Has anyone actually made money taking on-line surveys?

I would like to make a bit of extra cash taking on-line surveys, but I am not sure if they are all scams. If you know of any legitimate sites, I would appreciate it.

There are a lot of survey sites that you can make some money in. Not a whole lot. If your looking to make some money or free prizes and want to take survey's for the principle of it and be compensated some for it, I know a few sites you can register for free with if you'd like them send me your email address and I'll send you some links. However in all survey's no matter how much they advertise you make a lot of money, you don't with the survey's themselves. I want you to be aware of what is involved. Some survey's you can make $30 to $50. But it's not just taking the survey for a few minutes. Rather it's a test product, an ordinary survey or whatever, they all have a process. You'll get a survey, spend about 10 to 20 minutes on a pre-qualifying survey, if you qualify, which more than half the time you don't and waist that
amount of time on the pre qualifier. You then spend 20 to 45 minutes to complete. Your then either rewarded by points or money, depending on the site. You'll need to register to a bunch of different sites to earn any amount. Another type is you take a prequalifying survey (same amount of time) a product would be sent to you, You try the product for a period of time (usually 10 days) then fill out another survey. These types you make the most money at. However your putting more effort into it then the 1 to 3 dollar surveys.

I take them myself because I found out that they companies do use them for marketing and products. So your opinions do count. If this is the reason why you want to do it, then I'd say go for it, as long as the site is free. But if you think your going to make a substanital amount of money taking online survey's, you will be very disappointed.

I started having my daughter do them to show her what it takes to earn money. She has a lot of fun doing them and trying products out and what not.

Most survey sites now offer points instead of cash. One really good survey site is Pinecone Research - but it is very hard to get into. You have to find one of there banners. They used to pay $5.00 a survey, but have since changed to $3.00 a survey. And, they are few and far between. You can try Survey Saavy, and there are a few others. Stay away from Panda Research.
