hi,
it is better to have one on the weekend not a weekday. and plan it out more, give yourself about two weeks to make sure that you have everything that you need to make the yard sale a good experience for you. if you plan it today and try to have the sale tomorrow then if is a given that it will be a flop. and again the weekend is better than a weekday. |

I've seen ones that STARTED on Friday, but then continued through at least Saturday. If you live in an area where there are lots of retirees you might do well... |

I haven't ever had a garage sale on a weekday and I doubt if you would make much because of what you said, people are at work and busy with there families. Sorry, can't you wait until Friday or Sat. I think some on Fridays do OK. |

See if you can hold this at a park. You may need a permit to do this. At least, you will go where it is busy. I wouldn't advise it at your house, as most people do work and won't go out of their way during the week. |

I'm sure a bunch of kids who live in ur neighborhood will stop by, and not all adults work or work on wednesdays. |

the first shift monday to friday jobs are not as common as they used to be. I only go to garage sales on the weekdays and all the good stuff is always gone before i even get there, so YEAH, you can make money. |

Well yes, i did, and if you put up a sign near a busy street that lists your address, and you set up very early in the morning you will get a couple of people.....dont count on a lot of money though.... |

where I live, most sales start on Thursday or Friday and go through Saturday. since it's not advertised in your local paper, be sure to put out lots of signs. Some people work (like me) but not everyone works an 8-5 M-F job (my husband) and some people don't work (stay at home parents - not to mention most schools are still out). I think you would be fine if you advertise well. Whatever you don't sell, put out on Saturday, too. |
