The Quixtar business model is excellent if you're serious about having your own business. However, the key factor is whom you associate with. There are several independant organizations that offer mentorship, but pass themselves off as a required component to be successful with the business model.

As for your direct question, I'd say yes you should if you trust the person showing you the system. If they were a complete stranger though, be alot more cautious. Also, if they're quoting more than $100 as a start up cost, walk away. Personally I've helped people get started for nothing. It just depends on who you deal with.

As for all the bashers and nay-sayers, they're usually people that got screwed by people that scammed them and abused the business system. Or people that didn't do their share of the work and now go online to complain about how they got 'screwed', when really they were the ones looking to get rich quick.

Anyway, good luck and find someone trustworthy to work with.

I've heard of them, no don't sign up for them. While they are not exactly pyramid schemes they are close, you have to do a lot of "cold selling" to get any type of real money, If you can slip stuff off onto people then go for it, if you can't then don't sign up.

Amway. It is a pyramid company. To get to be top dog you would have to recruit people below you to sell products and you would get a portion of their sales. The person trying to get you to sign up would get a portion of your sales and a portion of those you signed up. They have a couple good products, but why buy expensive toilet paper just to show loyalty and boost your sales - and you have to buy your samples etc. - then sell sell sell and recruit recruit recruit!

Amway i.e. Quixtar is a multilevel marketing company. You begin as a distributor, and work you way up to different levels within the company. Your progress or development is based upon how many people you get in hyour downline. As a personal development tool, I found it fascinating, as a business, I had more out go then I had in come. However for a forward agressive business person, it has worked out quite well.

I've heard of both of them. Amway is in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Not sure where Quixtar is though.

Dick DeVos (the man who ran against Jennifer Granholm for governor of Michigan) was the president of Amway years ago. He's a deceptive prick.

Quixtar bought out Amway a few years ago. It's called Quixtar in the United States and Canada but it is still called Amway in other parts of the world.
It is a mult-million dollar company and many people make very good money with it. The thing to keep in mind though, it that it is your own business and most businesses fail (thus, a lot of people who probably failed or know someone who failed trying to tell you it's a scam).
As far as businesses go, the start up cost is pretty low and the support system is excellent. The decision you have to make is whether you're willing to put in the time and effort it will take to make your business succeed.
Best wishes in whatever you decide.

I don't know about Quixtar, but Amway's a scam; it's what is called a "pyramid scheme". Don't do it. It sounds great, I know, I've listened to their pitch, but it's a scam.

Amway has been in USA since the 70's. It's a Multi level Marketing program. You'll have to recruit members to sell the products. Takes a lot of commitment and discipline and patience to build the business. Quixtar is the online site for Amway. Been in it but now I'm out.

Amway has been around for years. It's essentially a pyramid scheme, except it's legit. They sell pretty good projects, but you really have to be dedicated to work for them. Most people start the program, but never finish and end up getting screwed.
Never heard of quixtar. Better check www.scam.com

Amway and Quixtar are one in the same. They had to change their name due to their cult-like methods of recruiting people. I was turned off by them because they refused to tell you what the meeting was about that you were going to. It was top secret! Then you arrive and find out it's Amway...again.
The thing about Amway is that in their time, they paved the way for other network marketing companies, but somewhere along the line, their wheels fell off and they started this cult-like adventure. Their compensation plan definately needs updating. My brother in law is with them so I hear first hand what's going on.

They are the same company and its all crap. They make you pay to "join". NO THANKS.
Start your own company. There are hundreds of different business types out there that you can start for little or no money.
