Yes. Many people. And it is never easy. Even the people that are causing the organization a lot of grief. I think anyone that enjoys firing people has some problems. Face to face conflict is something most people are uncomfortable with. Good luck.

i fired a dentist once. he started to drill a tooth and i pushed his hand away cuz it still hurt and he said he didn't want to give me another shot because it wouldn't numb my tooth anymore. well when i said forget it you're fired he said he'd give me another shot and to wait another 15 minutes for it to take effect and it worked. i just think he wanted me out of there as quick as he could cuz he was running behind on his appointments.

no, but i almost got someone else fired by accident...not pretty.
i'd say walking up to the person and saying "I'm relieving you of your duties..."

I did have to fire someone once because he was just goofing off and not doing his job. He didn't look at me as an authority figure and that made it really hard, but one day I had had enough and called this guy in the back and told him he was fired. He then launched himself at me like he was going to hit me and called me a *****, but luckily another employee was there to hold him back. He kept coming after me and security was called to get him out. So the most difficult part was the whole experience. Good luck and hope it goes smoother than mine did.

It was the hardest thing I ever had to do. The woman was a friend of mine, but not doing her job & I had no other choice, I gave her four warnings & asked her to please, do her work, & all she did was nod her head & laugh, I guess she thought I was kidding ? I really felt bad, but, I did warn her & she chose to ignor it.
