I want to begin my small business with a partner. What specific points do I need to know about having a partner. How can I avoid the traps of having a partner?
Some people would say don't go into partnerships but I disagree if it's the right one. I think that if you clearly define each persons role in the business it can work brilliantly my business partner and I have a fantastic friendship and business. We are both upfront about all aspects of the business. Especially the finances. Also I think that we both take care of different aspects of the business so that we don't tread on each others toes which works really well for us. Always keep the lines of comunication open and always keep things between you rather than letting any of your staff in on any problems. People who work for you should always see a united front. also make sure that it is someone that you would be willing to share the business with and not get frustrated with them easily

First of all you must trust your partner,if you don't ,then don't do it.Agree on what equity each have in the business.Make a business plan,so you are both happy with it,and know the direction you are heading for.Most business partnership success is built on TRUST. Good luck.
