Help ON EBAY!!?
Ok i placed a bid for a record and now i dont want it...if nobody places a higher bid, do i still have to buy it??
You do - but CHILL. You can retract your bid. Go to this page: http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?RetractBidShow

It's probably too late to retract your bid, so hope that someone else bids on it. When you bid on an item, if you took the time to notice it, it tells you this is a firm commitment to buy the item, which is a contract. Next time, be very sure you want something badly enough to bid on it. And pay for it.

yes, you do...be careful what you bid on...it is a contract to buy

There are some things you can do, but one of them must be pretty close to after you bid.......incase you made a typo.
You can try to contact the seller and talk to him about it. perhaps work something out if you end up the highest bidder.
In the end, if you don't pay...you'll just get a negative rating.

first rule of ebay. Don't place bid unless you really want it. Good Luck.

You can retract the bid or contact the seller to cancel it. If you win the auction, let the seller know right away that you don't want it. You could do a mutual withdraw.
