Help! What can I sell in my shop?
Hi everyone. I have a shop in an affluent town in southern england which will stand empty for the the next 12 months. It has approx 35 square metres and is on a high street. Can anyone think of a product area which are emerging as the next big thing. It needs to be:
- fairly quick to mobilise
- have a start up cost of less than £20k.
- need no speciast knowledge
The shop is next to a florist and interior design company.

Hi, I am a retired small shop-keeper. Without hesitation I would go for greeting cards, the profit margin is high, you need no special knowledge, there are no 'sell-by' dates to worry about, can be set up immediately and will compliment the florist. Watch for shoplifters and good trading.

Great things would be..

1. Candles (who doesn't love them?)
2. Handmade crafts (find some neat things that no one else has)
3. Some cool vases or things similar
4. Some neat things for gardens like decor, etc.

Whatever you decide..GOOD LUCK ;-)

Well as it is comming up to xmas time i would sell all types of teddy bears gift wrapped in cellophane tied with ribbons etc and personalised ie merry christmas mum orrrr with havin the flower shop next door would be good as flowers take off at xmas, good luck whatever you choose to do witch1

something craft based - scrapbooking and cardmaking are very popular - would be attracted by florists and interior design being near - make sure the stock that you buy in is acid and lignin free - can't go too far wrong after that
good luck - post your decision on here so we get to know

I think candles would be a mover, especially next door to a florist and an Interior design shop. Candles are used for Interior design and in floral arrangements, you have two customers there already! Plus, candles are always needed for romantic nights and powercuts.
