You sound like a GREAT kid! Focus on what you can do now like studying for your SATS or taking advanced Biology or science classes. Start volunteering at your local animal shelter if you can, being under 18. Then go to college and major in Biology. At college you will get more opportunities for community work, like helping homeless people. It is rewarding - I did it in college too!
When you are a vet you will easily come across many animals that need homes and help. You can also serve on the Board of Directors of an animal or homeless shelter to help out. Becuase running a shelter may not leave you much time for your work, right? I am an attorney and serve on the Board of Directors of an animal shelter and I love it!!! Trust me, if I could afford it I would work with animals full-time, but I cant so I do what I can for now. GOOD LUCK!!! |

look on the internet how to be non profit org and make sure you know all the legals of this situation never give up what your heart tells you to do . You will be surprized where help can come from .. Make sure everyone on the net and your area know what your goals are and you need help bcs you will need help . Just keep up with the legal side of it. Don't take no poo poo from anyone either. Be confident BE CONFIDENT. And make sure you have good people skills .. |

well i don't know much about it,but i want to follow the same path as you. i'm 14 and i'm middle class to high class . you have to go to school for buissness i think. you can find out more by going to google or a local search engine and typing it i. good luck.

:o we sound so much alike.i'm 17 too and i want to do something similar except i'm planning on being a nurse rather than a vet. i think the best thing to do is to get your degree, pay off student loans and debts, etc. then focus on helping people/animals after establishing yourself. it sounds like a long process but sometimes the best way to get things done is the hard way. no matter what u choose, i think it's awesome u want to improve the world! |

You have wonderful goals,....just conquer them ONE at a time. Get your Veteranary education first...and THEN concentrate on your kind humanitarian generousity for our abandoned or mistreated "four legged friends". I think you will do a wonderful job. You're heart is in the right place. |

i would go and talk to someone at your chambers of commerce. or maybe go and search on the internet for sites that would help you find people that will help you get started in what you want to do. also you could go to your court house and ask to speak with someone there about information on what you want to do for your community. i hope that everything turns out for you. |
